Depending on who you talk to, you'll often get different opinions on the importance of incoming links (often called backlinks) to a
website from a Search Engine's perspective. One person might suggest that the more sites that link to your site must mean that your site is an authority and should be returned
at the number one spot in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPS). On the other hand, it is vital to think about the quality and relevance of the back links. So you could ask the question are the incoming links from sites of similar content to yours? Are they from reputable websites
that have some established standing and high Page Rank (PR)? Are they from a good cross section of IP addresses, or are they all on the same IP address?

Google takes many different things into account when it decides where to place your website amoung the SERPS in response to a search performed by somebody. If you don't appear on Page 1 of the SERPS for your main keyword phrase, you will never be a major risk to your competitors.

So how can you gather
back links to your website?

Exchange links with RELEVANT Sites.

This shouldn't cost you a thing and only involves you sending an e-mail to the owner of a website that belongs to a similar niche to you, and has some Page Rank. Some might refer to this as reciprocal linking. I link to you if you link to me! It isn't really
that useful because the you aren't getting anything unique like a one way link.

Link Exchange Memberships.

Some automated systems offer an outstanding service. It usually involves a membership base of webmasters and each one enters details of their sites into the system and sharing links with website with similar niche content that are also in the system. For best results the back links should be different to the outbound links, so two websites should not link to each other. You would expect to pay for this type of system, but good ones can be worth their weight in gold.

Buy Links.

You can find several services that broker links where you can request them to find you good quality links to your website. After agreeing a price with the site owners they will consult with you and charge you including a commission. E.G. I was recently contacted be a broker to sell a link on one of my websites for $150 for 1 year.

Social Bookmarking

Some people ignore this very effective method to get backlink. The number of social bookmarking sites has mushroomed, and you should take time out to join the most popular. I sugest using the same username and password details for each one when permitted, to make things easier, but maintain a written list of your login details for each one as a safeguard incase you forget any of them. Some people will join these sites on your behalf and will only charge around $25 where you will be provided with login details for each site. When you bookmark your wewbpage links on these sites, you will get several loads of back links and if other members happen to like your website, you might find your sites being shared among many people.

Blogs and Forums

Blog and Forum posting is another great way to get inbound
links, sometimes with high PR and relevance. All you have to do make a search for blogs and forums that match the content of your sites. Give yourself a few weeks to post comments and replies to existing posts. Make some simple posts, get your username known. But, {don't try and|I would advise against trying to|don not promote your own links too soon. Try to build a little reputation and then post a link or two into the body of your comments or posts that you make. Include your links into your forum signatures with anchor text that relates to yuour keyword
phrases for maximum effect. Try to be a source of advice for the forum readers so people will begin to respect what you say. Many forums and blogs can be very popular and respected, so a backlink from a place like this can be very effective.

WPMU Wordpress Blogs

People install new WordPress blogs on their sites every day, and some of the blog owners permit anyone to create their own blogs on the main blog. These are referred to as WPMU blogs, or multiple
users. These can be a great way to get backlinks from different IP addresses.

To identify WPMU blogs simply run a Google search for "Just a username, please" inurl:wp-signup.php and you'll find pages of results. Visit each of these blogs yourself and use ones that compliment your niche.

Create an account on the blogs you choose and upload your own articles and content putting a link to your own website on the newly created blog and then ping it to all the major ping services. Continue to do this whenever you get time and you should see backlinks appearing every day. And it's free.

Jetztpage: http://jetzt.sueddeutsche.de/jetztpage/wingerter) anzeigen lassen oder über das Menü auf der rechten Profilseite erreichen.

Einen Pagerank haben die Profile natürlich nicht, aber gerade durch die blogs mit der unbeschränkten Verlinkung lassen sich gewiss 2 schöne Links von einer gut bewerteten Domain setzen. (Alexarank: 1.274)

Bei eraffe.de wird das wort Party ganz groß geschrieben. Für mich bietet sich dort die möglichkeit, mal abzuschalten und nicht über Marketing oder Suchmaschinen nachzudenken. Dort kann ich mich rasch und einfach bei so gut wie allen Clubs meiner umliegenden Städte über anstehende Events informieren. Zum Beispiel habe ich so vor kurzem von der Strand Party im M-Park erfahren. Die Dekoration war nicht sehr gelungen, aber die Liegestühle sollten nun für jeden Feierabend in Serie gehen. :)

If you go to your wordpress admin area you will find the design area and then theme design. This is where you get to tweak and change the parts of your blog.

Go to the footer section. Now you want to add a keyword anchor text link in your footer. Your blog name should have your keywords in it, so you can always make your link the name of your blog.

Just use the basic <a href="yoururlhere">your keywords here</a> This will make your keywords clickable.

What's important about footer links is this: the footer is shown on every page of your blog. The posts, pages, the tag pages, every single page. This means as your blog grows so do the number of footer links in that are found.

ebay bietet uns seit Jahren ein grandioses Angebot. Wer es nicht kennt lebt - tut mir nicht einmal Leid, das zu schreiben - hinter dem Mond oder gehört total überhaupt komplett gar nicht zur breiten Zielgruppe.

Die Macher machten ebay im Laufe der Jahre zu viel mehr. Dort kann man nicht nur an Auktionen teilhaben, sondern auch Artikel bewerten, sich auf einer mich-Seite beschreiben und sogar bloggen.

Auch ein Community-Forum gibt es für Tipps und Tricks zu den ebay Funktionen oder gelungenen Auktionen bzw. auch zur einfachen Schnäppchenjagd.

Auf der mich-Seite bietet e-bay unter Gewissen Voraussetzungen die Möglichkeit, sich selbst, sein Unternehmen oder seinen Shop und die Angebote zu beschreiben. Die Voraussetzungen sind bei der Erstellung einer solchen Info-Page einsehbar und müssen unbedingt beachtet werden, da sonst diverse Sanktionen von ebay eingeleitet werden, die bis zum Ausschluss vom Auktionsportal führen können.

Die mich-Seite von Benjamin Wingerter ist ein einfaches Beispiel für die zulässige Form. Es ist erlaubt HTML zu verwenden. Dadurch lassen sich saubere Links auf die eigene Seite setzen. Meine PR toolbar gibt keinen Page Rank an, aber check sites zeigen für die Domain einen valider Dreier, was mich ziemlich freut. ;)
Und selbst wenn es wie ich vermute keine Rankvererbung gibt, so sind die links immerhin follow und können selbst mit html beschrieben werden.

Damit verabschiede ich mich für heute und werde mich wohl die nächsten Tage auch wie in den vergangenen etwas rarer machen. Mein Urlaub neigt sich dem Ende zu. In wenigen Stunden besuche ich zum Beispiel die Moorleichen in Schloss Gottorf und eine uraltes Wikingerdorf.

Articles have been known to be the driving force in driving traffic to a website. Articles are a factor in giving site high rankings in search result pages. As each website visitor goes to a site, there are those who are just merely browsing but actually looking for a specific something. When this happens, a searcher usually goes to a search engine and types in the keywords they are looking for (e.g. Toyota Camry, Meningitis, Tax Lawyer and Etcetera). It could be anything they want.

The Important thing is that you have an article that has the keywords that are related to your site. For example, if you maintain an auto parts site, you must be able t have articles about cars and their parts.  There are many tools in the Internet that provides service in helping a webmaster out in determining what keywords and keyword phrases are mostly sought out. You can use this tool to determine what keywords to use and write about.

Keyword Density

Know that you have your keywords and keyword phrases, you must use them fully. An article must have good keyword density for a search engine to “feel” its presence. Articles should at least have ten to fifteen percent of keyword density in their content for search engines to rank a site high in their search results. Getting a high rank is what articles do best for a site.

Keyword density is the number of times a keyword or keyword phrase is used on an article. The number varies depending on the number of words used in an article. An effective article must have a keyword density that is not too high or too low. With a very high density, the essence of the article is lost and may turn off a reader as well as the search engines. It comes off as overeager. A low number may be ignored by the search engines.

Good Article Content

Like what is stated above, you cannot just riddle an article with keywords. They must also be regarded as good reading materials. Articles must be able to entertain people as well as provide good information and help for their needs. Articles should be written well with correct spelling and good grammar. If you want people to trust you, make your work good and well thought out.

People respond well to figures, facts and statistics. Try to get great information and as many facts as you can. A good and well written article will boost your reputation as an expert in your chosen field or topic. As more people believe in you. They will be able to trust you and your products.

Linking Articles

And another important thing to remember: if you are going to submit articles to E-zines and/or contribute your articles to newsletters and other sites, DON’T ever forget to include a link to your site. A little resource box with a brief description of your site and you should always be placed right after your articles that you have submitted. If people like your articles, they will most likely click on the link directing them to your site.

I was chatting to a colleague of mine at work today who has mortgages on three houses and owns two further houses.  At the moment because of the decline in house prices, he has negative equity on a couple of the houses and obviously because of the increase in inflation, his mortgage rates are going up.

In the long run, it is true, this guy will make a good deal of money (providing he can make it through the bad times and possible recession).  It's one way to make money, but it's a slow process and not really fitting to what I want to do, which is make enough money to have the freedom to do what I want before I go bald (due to my genes I'm guessing I have another 15 years yet!).  Given my goal, house buying isn't going to do it for me.

So instead, I'm going to buy web sites. And I almost bought one today for the princely sum of $30k.  I did my market research and checked out the visitor and income stats for the site - 25,000 UV and $2,000 average income a month.  To my mind that sounds like a pretty good investment - if the web site continues on its current trend, in 15 months I will start to make a profit.

But then you start to consider that this web site is also a Page Rank 4 site, and therefore will have a positive impact on my other sites (as I will obviously backlink to them).  The monetary value of this is unknown and maybe arbitrary but it's certainly a factor.

On top of this, I have a background of SEO, and I identified a number of keywords that I could boost the site up Google with.  Therefore I predict I could almost double the traffic and hopefully increase revenue inline with that.

So, I could have a web site that is generating me passive income of $2000+ / month and in 3 years (at this rate) It is possible for me to make $38,000 profit (running costs are negligible as I am a partner in a web hosting company).  I'll plug that back into a couple of further endeavours of say $20,000 each and even if only one performs, I'm now earning approx $4,000 passive income per month.

Web site investments are notoriously high risk, however, and I don't envisage a 100% success rate on all web sites that I take over.  But it's far more exctiting than houses, and doing this for 10 years will get me much further than taking the property route (especially given that I don't have much in the way of capital).

Watch this space - I'll keep this lbog for 10 years and we'll see if my "on the side" business model works.  I quite fancy my chances ;)

As an update: Spittinflicks.com is on the first page at google.com for Film Forum and about 120th for the keywords Film Reviews. On top of this a new house reviewer has joined the team and we are up to 80 top quality house reviews. All this in less than five months - I am looking forward to the next year.

According to my experience if you have very few backlinks. like 100 or less and PR0, even then your site can be at first page of Google for your keywords.

What I have learned is that getting Google top positions have not much with external linking. Once your site in indexed, it means Google has stored your content in its database. Now Google applies its algorithm and generates the keywords for which your site is best. For example your web page is about SEO tips. Now SEO Tips is the keyword you are targeting. Now let me give you hints how can you get top position for this keyword (SEO Tips).

1) If you are able to purchase the domain like "seo tips" etc, or "great seo tips"... it will be helpful. Although this is not necessary . You can purchase "xyz", too :-)

2) Use your keywords in your title tag. Like "Great SEO Tips for beginners".

3) In your keywords tag you may use these keywords: "SEO, Search engine optimization, tips, tricks, articles, seo help"

4) Meta description is not important for Google ranking. But it is displayed as a description of your website when your site shown by Google in search results. If encourages visitors to click on your site. So, you write. "This web page will provide you the tips, tricks and techniques to improve the SEO of your website, to get top Google position."

5) In body, your page heading should be a H1 tag. This should contain your keywords. It may be like:

"SEO tips, tricks and techniques to get top Google position"

6) Then your first paragraph is very important. It must be at least 200 words long and should contain your keyword (SEO tips) upto 15 times.

7) Then in each following paragraphs, you must create a heading (using H1...H6 tags). Each heading must contain your words SEO tips in different natural formats. Like "SEO tips for beginners", "advanced SEO tips" etc etc. Again in each of your paragraph of you must incorporate keywords at a rate of about 10% density.

8) In all the images of your website, you must use the ALT tag and give a description of your image. Don't forget to add your keyword in the alt tags. Like for your logo image, your ALT tag may be like "Logo of abc site a source of SEO tips" etc. Use the ALT tags of all images.

But remember one thing, dont spam your keywords. Google may penalize you for this. Recommeded key words density by most SEO people is 5-8%. It means if your page has 100 words, then 5-8 should be your keywords. Not less and not much more.........

9) You should make your site navigation really simple. It means, from every page of your website, you must be able to reach any other page just be 3 clicks, at the maximum.

10) Make a page called sitemap.html. This must contain all the links of the pages of your website. This will help Google to index all your pages, fast.

11) All of your page name must be very descriptive so that just be reading the name, users and Google must understand the theme. For example: "7-great-seo-tips" etc etc.

12) On each page of your website, there should be links of related pages of your website.
