Molti di voi sanno come la penso su certe forme di volontariato e quello che state per leggere vi stupira' un po'.Da oggi sono ufficialmente volontario del TIFF, il Toronto International Film Festival. Sono gia' alcuni giorni che ci penso, la settimana scorsa ho visto che oggi c'era questo appuntamento e mi son detto, perche' no? almeno conosco gente, spikko un po' di inglese e mi diverto, proviamoci..
E' andata cosi', l'appuntamento era alle 6.30pm, il sito diceva che per questa sessione "solo" i primi 380 sarebbero stati accettati, percio', uscito da lavoro dopo un paio di commissioni sono andato all'appuntamento. Erano le 4pm e per fortuna ci avevo visto giusto, ero fra i primi 15, fila che finiva dietro l'angolo quindi non vedevo il resto delle persone. Gente di tutti i tipi, quasi tutti over 25 sembra, vecchini e vecchine, molti asiatici e molti locali (ma cosa sono i locali in un paese come questo?).
Ci portano il libretto del volontario del TIFF e compiliamo tutti un foglio con alcuni personali, alle 6.10 circa finalmente ci fanno entrare in questo teatro al 60 di Simcoe St, entrata degli artisti/staff sul retro.

Nel frattemo ho conosciuto una vecchietta arzilla (qui sono parecchie devo dire), venuta dalla Germania decenni fa e che, come me, faceva qualche battuta sul su/giu'/destra/sinistra sostituito qui dal nord/sud/est/ovest ma niente di che tranne che 40 anni fa e' stata in Italia. Ognuno ha i suoi crucci.

Naturalmente sto parlando della feccia del genere umano, di quelli che non esitano a buttare il loro gatto in qualche giardino sconosciuto e a legare il loro cane al guard-rail dell'autostrada per andare a farsi le ferie. Rivolgere un appello accorato a questi figuri probabilmente non serve, ma a tutti gli altri si.

Se siete indecisi su cosa fare con il vostro amico a quattro zampe allora non stateci a pensare, portatelo con voi. In fondo non è poi così tremendo portare con se al mare o in montagna il cane o il gatto o anche entrambi. Io ho sempre portato in vacanza i miei animali, con noi sono venuti al mare e ai monti e si sono sempre comportati benissimo, nel 1997 eravamo sulle Dolomiti con il gatto e il cane, alloggiavamo in un appartamento in un residence con una mansarda, il micio aveva subito guadagnato i piani alti e il cane che non riusciva a salire la scala a chiocciola rimaneva disperato al piano terra, erano uno spasso... Ricordo che il nostro rientro in città era stato accolto benissimo da entrambi, si erano fiondati in macchina e non li avevamo più sentiti fino a casa. Come vedete ricordo quella vacanza con tanta tenerezza perche loro non ci sono più, ma anche con un pizzico di ironia.
