ERRADO!

A navegabilidade é semelhante ao Google Maps, com direito a 'Zoom In' e 'Zoom Out' (aproximar e afastar).

:D ). Flws!

I’ve been having a bit of a Casey Jo revival lately and I was watching my fave of her vids, her contribution to the awesome Babespotting and you won’t believe what I noticed! There’s a shot of a place in London called ‘Cock Lane’!!

Obviously I had to Google map it straight away. It’s near Holborn Viaduct apparently. Defo have to go check that out soon.

It did get me and some of the boys in the office thinking; pornstars should only live in porn-themed named towns or streets! Wouldn’t that make the world a better place? So we ended up devising a fun way to waste time this afternoon. We typed as many rude words into Google maps as possible and you wanna hear some of the crackers we found! There’s Ragged Ass Road which is in Canada, there’s also a town called Felch in Michigan, Boner Street in Georgia and my personal favourite ‘Clit Court’ in a place called Albany in New York State! I reckon our pals across the pond have got the right idea! It’s not just across the Pacific where they name places funny though.

I told one of my female colleagues about my idea and she surprised me by saying she’d once visited a town in Austria called ‘Wank’. I asked her if she’d had a fiddle with herself whilst she was there and I think I embarrassed her a bit because she excused herself pretty quickly! Oh well, haha!

In light of the recent skyrocket in gas prices, two high school students, Asad Hussain and Jocelyn Im, decided to take action and let the people of New Brunswick, NJ know that their are other ways besides driving to get around. Hussain and Im created the website Train Station Access: Bike and Walk New Brunswick, NJ. The two students have already created a similar Princeton Junction Train Station website and decided to extend their reach to New Brunswick. The site , powered by Mappler via Google Maps, provides information about bike-rack accessibility and quality, Cafe' and Deli locations, and Train Station access points. The purpose of this website is to show you how 'green' forms of transportation can interconnect and allow a large number of residents can travel throughout the tri-state area with little impact on the environment or their wallet.

After a blinding holiday in Ibiza (did that ever really happen?), I'm back to work. And back to blogging . After a long spell away from the t'internet it was hard to know where to start. So without further ado, here's a few things I kinda feel like sharing that I stumbled upon.

This is all the brain can musta today, so hopefully you can enjoyable this posts in all it's grammar & spelling mistaken gloryiousness...

Pixel Street Art

Is it digital? Is it real? Is is art? All of the above?? What can I say, I love this shit.

Fed up staring at YouTube videos? Want to get involved?! YouChoose turns The Godfather into an interactive movie adventure.
I Feel London

Explore London by your mood (feeling naughty?) with I Feel London. Anything with a Google Maps mash-up gets my digital juices flowing. As well as sharing your own tips, you can see what other people like to do when they feel hungover, romantic, energetic etc. There's one for NYC too, (the best city in the world!).

Via Andy.

Monster.com Foosball

Something wrong with this picture fellas? There's a ballerina in a foosball match! And she is never able to kick the ball. (Not sure if I'm slightly offended by that?!?) What I do like though, it directly expresses a job mismatch - reminding you to look for a job using Monster.com.

Via directdaily.

Here's another stab at making YouTube slightly less drivelous (is that a word?). From the awesome Poke NY, comes upl8.tv. Up late wathing mindless nonsense on YouTube? Watch it here and just hit space bar when you're bored. Search by your own video-tastes by throwing a search term after the backslash. Check it out in all it's next next next glory!!

A while ago Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Inc., announced the iPhone 3G or the unofficial name, iPhone 2. This iPhone will have all the features like its predecessor, the original iPhone, plus several more features, which is hard to believe, for a cell phone.

The Upside
Microsoft Exchange now can be used with iPhone. I’m not familiar with the software because I never used it but according to Apple it’s basically created for corporate users. Apple wants the next iPhone to be used by both the regular individuals and by enterprise people.

It also has GPS, yes you read it right, it has a built in GPS system on the iPhone 3G. So basically you can go anywhere and track yourself on your phone; it tracks you by getting your exact point from three sources, a near by Wi-Fi signal, near by cell phone towers, or directly from the GPS satellites. I give 5 Stars to Mr. Jobs for adding the GPS feature on the next iPhone.

Not only that, the biggest surprise to iPhone fans and everyone else was the price that Mr. Jobs announced to everyone, an incredible low price for $199 for the 8 GB, and $299 for the 16 GB. With our US economy in recession it still wouldn’t stop someone like me to buy one without a second thought. After I saw the price for the 8GB I was just blown away and I said to myself that I will get one and I’ll find the money some how to get it .

The Downside
This is the part that blows big time. You cannot buy the iPhone 3G online nor can you activate it by yourself. You have to go to an AT&T store and actually sign a 2-year contract with AT&T and pay for the iPhone 3G up front. After I heard that I became hesitant about buying it. I’m currently with T-Mobile and I thought that I would just buy the iPhone 3G at full price, wait for couple of months for some techi guy to develop a software to unlock it and use T-mobile 3G network, unfortunately that plan is in the trash. AT&T has one of the worst plans I have ever seen, their lowest plan is $39.99 for 450 anytime minutes and with 5000 minutes for nights and weekends. Also, for the data plan, AT&T has raised the price from $20/month to $30/month and they are no longer sharing their revenue with Apple, sucks for Steve Jobs. So basically if I leave T-Mobile, since my contract with them ended long time ago, and sign up with AT&T, I would have to pay $36 activation fee, plus pay $40/month for voice calls, plus $30/month for the data plan, and on top of that taxes are added.

It’s Locked People
So, if you were a T-Mobile user and somehow you got your hands on an iPhone 3G, it still would be hard to unlock it because of all the restrictions Apple has placed on it. Steve Jobs emphasized in last September that it would focus more on keeping the phone from being unlocked illegally by hackers, all I can say is good luck. Hackers are everywhere and programming, gadgets, and basically anything else about technology they will spend their time on. In France, by French law, Apple has to sell unlocked iPhones, even with popularity and with money Mr. Jobs can’t sell iPhones the way he wants to the French.

Developer Program
The developer program was release on March 9th, where Apple will share revenue with all the third-party developers for creating applications for the iPhone 3G. So, if you have a lot of time in your hands you can actually applications for iPhones and if people buy them you get to keep 70% of the revenue. This move by Apple will really boost it’s popularity.

Steve Jobs said they want at least 10 million iPhones sold for 2008. So far 6 million iPhones have been sold till today so, with the new iPhone 3G with the discounted price, I’m sure they will surpass their goal.

So let’s look at some of the features for iPhone 3G:

Google Maps/GPS

iPod (for Music and Videos)

iTunes

Calculator (regular and scientific)

SDK (for developers)

Portrait and Landscape formats (when you turn the iPhone horizontally and vertically)

Online eBay Shopping

Interactive Advanced 3D Games

Photo Gallery

2.0 Megapixel Camera

Loopt (an incredible social application which tells where your friends are and what they are doing and more)

Internet Browser (the best in the mobile market)

YouTube Player

TypePad Blogging Software( with photo blogging)

SMS (text messaging)

Visual Voicemail

3G Enabled (for faster video streaming and downloads and faster internet browsing)

Associated Press (news directly delivered to your phone)

Multiple Languages

There are so many more features but there’s too many to name. I’ll do my best to get one and once I get it and I’ll write a a "really" good review.

I basically want the phone because it’s an mp3 player plus it has a GPS system because it’ll save me money from buying a Microsoft Zune and buying a GPS navigation system for my car.

It also has a special application created by Dr. S. Mark Williams for medical students to study the human body, which favors my path. Also MIMvista created an incredible application for doctors to keep up with their patients' health status. As I'm typing this sentence more and more medical applications are being created by medical personnel.

The iPhone 3G will be released in AT&T stores on July 11th of this year, just less than a week away.

What do you guys think? Do you think it’s worth buying the phone?

A map covered in brightly colored pins screams "There's something going on here" and begs further exploration.

A fellow Twitter subscriber was assembling names and locations of Tweets and I never saw her say why and even though I mentioned using a map for a graphical display a couple of times, she didn't appear to warm to the idea.

My thoughts are that a graphical display of neighbours with common interests and whose bio or video clip opens up under the pin, is a powerful relationship building tool.

Another use would be to display dealers, agents or branches at a glance with store details and perhaps even a Web Page under the pin.

I started tinkering with google maps after dinner on Saturday and the process kept me wide awake 'till 3AM. I had the project substantially in shape by noon on Sunday.

A profit centre for designers could easily be developed by using a map as a family tree and inserting slide shows or movies under the pins.

3. Clique em 'Search Maps' (Pesquisar no Mapa)

4. Quando seu mapa já estiver completamente carregado, clique em 'Link to this page' (Criar link para esta página). Você deverá ver uma pop-up como a abaixo:

5. Selecione toda a caixa de texto 'Paste HTML to embed in website' (Colar HTML para incorporar ao website). O código deve começar com '<iframe...'. Copie o código

Cole o código (copiado no 5º passo) diretamente no diretor visual (Visualização).

[googlemaps http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=&ie=UTF8&ll=-22.80451,-43.205967&spn=0.066462,0.10643&t=h&z=13&output=embed&s=AARTsJqPZyAvqRqJyEH2bR3O5XUo1qwd_Q&w=425&h=350]

I've been trying to embed this map for about 30 minutes only to discover that wordpress doesn't allow iframes. Frustration aside, here's a really great map of this year's Tour. Click on the map above and zoom right in for street views.

And there is a live tracker of some sort here <link> though it seems to be showing a rider in the Atlantic off the coast of Africa at the moment.

Updated: Wired presented this list of online resources <link>. Only 144 followers on Twitter.

Add Google maps to your local area blog posts. People love interactive maps and they can add value when embedded in your localized blog posts. How can you get a localized map for your blog? Go to http://maps.google.com/ and generate a map based on local area searches. For example if you are blogging about your local schools a good map to create would be a map that includes schools around your area. To accomplish this do a search for schools in your city such as "San Luis Obispo CA schools".

Now that you have the desired map results Google makes it really easy to get a code snippet of the map for placing in your blog. From the map results click the "link to this page" hyperlink and copy/pase the HTML code Google provides into your blog.

A través de New at LacusCurtius and Livius.org llego a una interesante página donde podemos encont

Google has just released a new version of their maps application that supports voice recognition search on the BlackBerry Pearl. That means Pearl users can load Google Maps, hold a side button, say "pizza, i said PIZZA...PEE-TSA UH" and have the application magically find tacos in your immediate vicinity. This upgrade doesn't look to be automatic, so hit the link to have Google text message your phone for the "experimental" update.

é o Street View, do Google Maps.

Fino a Ieri.

Tools used: Facebook, Google Maps and e-petition

What Are They Doing: Aegis is asking Internet users to provide updates on their Facebook page about the whereabouts of suspects – Sudan’s Humanitarian Affairs Minister Ahmed Harum and Janjaweed leader Ali Kushayb. The International Criminal Court has indicated both men for over 40 counts of crimes against humanity and war crimes in Darfur.

Aegis Trust is also using Google Maps to track the last-known movements of the suspects. Users can also go to Aegis’ “Wanted for War Crimes” webpage to sign a petition that will be automatically emailed to members of the United Nations Security Council.

“The men on the watch list are suspected of hundreds of thousands of murders,” said Dr James Smith, chief executive of the Aegis Trust in a recent statement. “Someone, somewhere, knows where they are. They shouldn’t be allowed to live out their last days in luxury. Their futures lies in a courtroom. That’s what their victims deserve.”
