MEN - det blir svårt att välja och listan är som vanligt begränsad till de telefoner som jag har haft möjlighet att verkligen hårdtesta och använda under en längre tid. Därmed ser listan ut på följande sätt:

1) Samsung Blackjack II (aka Samsung i617) - Det är synd att den här inte kommer till Sverige då den säljer som smör i solsken i USA. Detta är ersättaren till min absoluta favorittelefon genom alla tider, Samsung i600 (den borde egentligen vara kvar på listan men jag måste väl titta framåt..). Blackjack II är en Windows Mobile Standard telefon (ej pekskärm), med WM 6.1, qwertykeyboard, radio, inbyggd GPS osv. Detta är idag den effektivaste arbetstelefon jag kan hitta.

2) Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 - kanske lite patriotiskt eftersom jag bara testat ett sample men den var så bra att ett produktionsexemplar med fungerande "panels" kommer att vara enastående (fullständig recension följer i veckan). X1 känns väldigt mycket Sony Ericsson, är snabb som tusan med en fullständigt otrolig skärmupplösning och 3,5mm kontakt för ditt riktiga HIFI headset. Det här är en lyxmobil som väldigt många kommer att unna sig. Varför slår den inte Blackjack II ? - för att jag måste skjuta fram tangentbordet..jag tappar minst 15 sekunders produktivitet varje dag på det ;-)

3) Samsung i780 - den här telefonen blir bättre och bättre hela tiden. Jag var inte kompis med den till en början men efter att ha programmerat om några knappar och installerat SPB Mobile Shell 2.0 är det en oerhört bra telefon som har allt - inklusive GPS. Valet för proffsen och storskrivaren som vill verka utan att synas.

4) Samsung Omnia - Herregud vad snygg den är! och vilka prestanda - det enda jag skulle vilja ändra på är att öka skärmupplösningen så att man verkligen fullt kan ta tillvara på skärmens storlek. Den är lätt också men dagens tips är att låta den väldigt snofsiga pekpinnen ligga hemma och köra utan, eller alternativt med en Tri-Force.

5) Samsung i200 och HTC Touch Diamond - inte lätt alls. Jag är jätteförtjust i Diamond som gör allt jag vill och är väldigt bling-bling på ett speciellt sätt som tilltalar mig. Touch Flo 3D är årets hittills snyggast användargränssnitt men det är inte lika effektivt som Samsung i200 som blir min föredragna vardagstelefon - det perfekta komplementet till min laptop. PS. glöm inte att använda "Internet Sharing" eller "Internet Delning" för att använda din Windowstelefon som turbo3G modem till din laptop - hur bra som helst.

Det finns massor med bubblare men listan skulle bli för lång. Listan består också som den observanta snabbt noterar, enbart av WM 6.1 telefoner. Det ska bli oerhört intressant att se vad LG, HP, Asus, Eten mfl kommer med under hösten.

Some newspaper scans have a bit of information on this - though it's all in Japanese and I don't have time to translate it for now... Sorry... But I will post them here - at least you can see the costumes for this single.

There's two more scans - but it's only text there - so I think it won't be that interesting to you.This costumes are really interesting, but I would like to see them a bit better to make some decisions like whether I like them or not. For now - they are interesting.

Okay, personally I'm not that excited about this news. Mostly because I was expecting something new to be released by Morning Musume. But I think I'll still enjoy this new single - because I like the original song and I think that the new arrangement will be great. We'll just wait and see.

HARGA UPDATE PER 8 SEPTEMBER 2008

Now on to the album. First things first and I will firstly write up my first impression of the album(a lot of "first" words but ah well...). From the very start of the first song(HAPPY! Stand Up) I decided that I'm going to be enjoying this album a lot. I liked all the songs in it - though I didn't like the remix of Special Generation, but I will review each song a bit later. So the first impression was really great. I was spamming my friend over the messenger with inaudible shouts and smileys, because I had no words to describe the greatness of this album. I don't have them now, but I'll try to be at least a bit objective when I come up to song reviews. The album is still playing - and this will be fifth replay of it. And I think that I won't be fed up with it. I'm going to listen to it to the point when I memorize all the lyrics...

Now on to songs review.

First on is group song HAPPY! Stand Up it starts up with a groovy tone and later on the lyrics start and this song rises you. This song is a bit looped, but it's not that tiring. I think this song will be great at concerts - it's somewhat tension-rising song. The point I like about it is also the retouching of girls' vocals - this way it sounds even greater. And I give this song 10 out of 10 points.

Next on is Kono Yubi Tomare! (Shimizu Saki, Natsuyaki Miyabi, Kumai Yurina, Sugaya Risako). It sounds a lot calmer than the previous one(this album has a little after-impression about which I'm going to speak a bit later). The tone and theme of the song reminds me of 60ies something American movies background or titles music. It sounds interesting, but it's a bit weak overall, but vocals here are great too - so I give this song 8 out of 10.

Next on is Baka ni Shinaide (Shimizu Saki, Natsuyaki Miyabi, Kumai Yurina, Sugaya Risako) another great song with great songs. It sounds a lot stronger than previous one. It starts of with some calm keyboard tones and then it suddenly gains pace and loudness. So this song is 9 out of 10(because I like HAPPY! Stand up more than this). Though as I said I enjoyed the album, so It's pretty hard to judge all the songs - but I'm trying... And it's very hard! I like this song to - but I can't possibly give all the songs 10 out of 10...(though I really want to).

Next song is already known Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance. In the context of the album(when your tension is rised by the first song and you are likely to be stricken by two other songs) this song sounds like a relaxation - because you already know what this song will bring you - so no surprises. I like this song. Though it has somewhat simple lyrics - you actually get to stomp your leg or swing your head according to the beats of the song. Because it's simple yet rising. 9 out of 10

Next one is the song I like very much! It's Ah Merry-go-Round(Shimizu Saki, Tsugunaga Momoko) this is the first slow paced song in the album. It features great vocals and interesting tune which will probably touch you if not make tears run on your cheeks. 10 out of 10

Next - CLAP! (Natsuyaki Miyabi, Tokunaga Chinami, Kumai Yurina) another tension-rising song. It features a lot of acoustic guitar and interesting vocal passages. Overall this song is a bit calmer than Happy! Stand up. But it gets 9 out of 10 because I like it.

Next - Risako solo "Real Love" - it is VERY hard for me to be objective here... Because I'm a die-hard Risako fan. But I'll try. This song has pretty interesting theme with a lot of synthesized tones. And Risako's vocal is really great here. 10 out of 10.

Next - Yume wo Hitotsubu ~Berryz Kamen Ending Theme~ now this song in the context of the album sounds really interesting. It features a tango-like theme and interesting vocals. Though it's not that moving than other songs. But it sounds interesting so 8 out of 10

Next on - Jingisukan - another "relaxation" song - because once again you know what this song'll bring you - so no surprises. I liked this song even though it's a cover. Because it sounds interesting with Berryz vocals(and yes - I heard the original). 8 out of 10

Next song is another well known song - Tsukiatterunoni Kataomoi - these two songs(i.e. Jingisukan and this one) are somewhat "prefaces" of what comes next. This song sounds interesting, though somehow it slept pass me and for some point I didn't even know what the cover and costumes for this one were... But later on I listened to it a lot and it grew up on me. 9 out of 10.

And now comes the song, which "brings you to Berryz Heaven"(it's a quote from some forum I don't remember which though - sorry...) - BE - this song is super slow. It features orchestra sound with a lot of harp and piano. In refrain it features children and men choir. It sounds really great - it calms and soothes you. And you are very happy staying in Berryz Heaven throughout the song. 10 out of 10.

And the last song in this album is a bit let-down. It's a remix of Special Generation called "Special Generation Eccentric Remix" I don't like this remix. It features heavy guitar riffs, unbalanced "body" of the remix(with strange inserts of totally different tones and beats) not to mention old vocal audio - which sounds like a stranger here(it doesn't match in tempo with the remix) and really stuffed up and packed up trashy sound - I don't like when too much different samples and patterns occur at the same time. So overall points are 5 out of 10(just because it's on Berryz Koubou album and not a fan-made remix, though it sounds a lot like it).

So overall this album gives a feeling of "waves" you have very fast paced and rising first song and then you have a bit relaxing second and then another rising song etc. I like this conception. I must say that this is the best Berryz Koubou album, if not best in all Hello!Project. This album overcame and surpassed C-ute's album.

So the total points for this album - 9 out of 10(only because of the remix song). And if you count it out - then 10 out of 10!

Tsuji and Yossy are just plain punk, but Rika can't quite make it. She looks like an old man.

Gaki, back there, is a little frightened with all the tension... Especially since Michishige's face is basically saying, "Hey you! I'll kill you!!" in a really rough, slurry accent.

Kago and Yaguchi seem to be the only ones with some semblance of calm.
And I can't figure out Kaori at all.
It's like someone just shook her really hard and now she's going, "Why'd you shake me??"

At HSBC I performed analysis on its loyalty card and retail loyalty marketing by using internal and external research. My deliverables included 12 case studies and a presentation to the senior vice president of marketing. I learned a lot about loyalty marketing in America and also a great amount of insight about financial services. It was a lot of fun.

Summer time in Chicago is fantastic ... BBQ on 4th of July, art festivals every weekend in different parts of town and wonderful drinks at Mexican restaurants. A few of my friends visited Chicago this summer and all of them loved the city as well. They said Chicago is the clean version of New York and I couldn't agree more. I am currently in London and I really miss the space and cleanliness of Chicago.

I am really looking forward to the last quarter's capstone project. I will be working on the HP Snapfish project and couldn't be more excited. I worked for HP Asia Pacific several years ago and it was great. I believe the course will be wonderful.

This week has been a busy one in the tropics, hasn't it? After seeing Hurricane Gustav crash into Louisiana, we just had tropical storm Hanna go by us yesterday, and now are watching Hurricane Ike moving south and it looks like it will be heading for the Gulf and up to and near New Orleans or maybe the Florida Panhandle. You sure can tell it's hurricane season.

Meanwhile, the battle between Comcast and the federal government continues as the cable giant is appealing the FCC's decision on it's internet access. As I mentioned last week, Comcast has determined it's users may only use 250 GB of download transfer a month, thereby setting limits that the government says is a violation. http://tinyurl.com/comcast-vs-fcc

This week, Google released a browser called Chrome to the public in beta form with the goal to offer an alternative to Internet Explorer and Firefox. Claims of faster loading pages and simplicity, with straightforward tabs on the top, an uncluttered screen, and no dialogue boxes that pop up and prompt users to do something when surfing the Web. If that wasn't enough, this week we learned that HP, the world's largest computer manufacturer, is creating it's own operating system for it's computers. Business Week reported that the company has seen so many complaints of the Windows Vista program, combined with the increased popularity of Apple's MAC notebooks, that it has decided to take matters into it's own hands and the hands of it's "Skunk Works" team of engineers. Remember Joost? They are the online video and film providers that pounced onto the online-video scene with what seemed to be the right technology. You download their software, log in, and find hours of programs to watch in really good quality. Chime.TV already pulls from the best online video providers like Break.com, Dailymotion, Veoh, and YouTube to make editor-created channels filled with stuff you'll love. Speaking of sites like YouTube, some videos are not necessarily for young eyes to see. Totlol takes care of that. Actual human beings vet videos from all over the Web as suitable for kids age 6 months to 6 years and embed them at this site. Classics include Kermit singing "It's Not Easy Being Green" on Sesame Street on up to modern VeggieTales and Wiggles and lots of obscure stuff in between.
