Fredag 4/7: VARMT! Hade tråkigt på förmiddagen men när jag var och cyklade på eftermiddagen så mötte jag Lucas, Emil + några miniatyr-människor till som jag lämnade med. Vi for till Lucas och kollade på några 2DTV-klipp! Efter det så for jag och Lucas ut med Ida och Patricia istället. Vi for till madrasserna och pratade och sen senare for vi till badhusparken och pratade och lekte Sanning och konsekvens.

Lördag 5/7: Jag blev uppväckt kl. 08.00 när vi skulle fara till Tuuri. Hela vägen till Tuuri var mulen och när vi var framme i Tuuri var det jättekallt där. När vi handlat klart så åt vi. Sedan for vi tillbaka hem. Kl. 19 var vi hemma och då for jag till Fiskarfesten. Där var det också kallt. Där var jag med Ida, Patricia, Cecilia och Heidi! Senare kom också Michel och Lucas, fast Michel for redan efter 1½ timme. Runt halv tolv tiden for vi till Lucas. Där spelade vi gitarr och sjöng, fast det tog nästan en halvtimme att hinna nån sång att spela. 00.30 kom Lucas' föräldrar hem så då for vi ochså hem! Lördagen var rolig! :D

Söndag 6/7: Idag var det kallt och tråkigt. Hela förmiddan så slöade jag bara och sen runt sextiden kom några typer hit. Och deras pojke är DEN VÄRSTA SNORUNGEN I VÄRLDEN!!! HAN HÅLLER FAN PÅ ATT FÖRSTÖRA MIN GITARR OCH HELA TIDEN FRÅGAR HAN EN MASSA ONÖDIGA OCH SJÄLVKLARA SAKER!!! Men Ida var snäll och gjorde en jättefin bild i Paint som visar när jag dödar honom i bykmaskinen!  :D

Wears The Trousers favourite Emiliana Torrini releases her third international album, Me & Armini, on September 8th. Produced by long-time collaborator Dan Carey, the album is said to be "a hugely ambitious and aspirational pop record" (so presumably miles away from 2005's hushed and intimate Fisherman's Woman).

The album's first single, the summery title track, will be released on August 18th, followed shortly after by ‘Jungle Drum', a "surging, breathless" beast of a song, on September 29th. That's all we know so far, but you can listen to 'Me & Armini' on Emiliana's Myspace RIGHT NOW.

Inara George has teamed up with the legendary Van Dyke Parks, strings arranger to the stars, for her second solo album, An Invitation, released next month. The two share a connection that goes right back to the day Inara was born as Parks was close friends with her father Lowell George, frontman of rockers Little Feat, who died in 1979 aged 32. That connection runs so deep Inara has even managed to persuade the usually reluctant Parks to join her on stage for some live previews of the new material. Three of the albums 13 songs are currently streaming from George's Myspace. 

Though she's perhaps best known for her role as the twittering half of The Bird & The Bee, Inara has also been keeping busy as one-third of informal trio The Living Sisters with Eleni Mandell and Lavender Diamond's Becky Stark. Their collaboration with DJs Greyboy Allstars on a cover of Nancy Wilson's ‘How Glad I Am' can be heard on the Sisters' Myspace.

The prolific Juliana Hatfield releases her ninth solo album, How To Walk Away, through her own Ye Olde Records on August 19th. Produced by Ivy's Andy Chase and featuring Tracy Bonham on violin as well as members of Psychedelic Furs, Nada Surf and Fountains Of Wayne, the album was partially funded by a pay-what-you-want scheme that Hatfield set up for people wanting to investigate her vast back catalogue. In addition to the new album, a 20-song bonus CD of demos made for the album is available in a limited edition of 1000 copies. Pre-order the album here.

Hatfield is also in the process of finishing up an autobiography that chronicles her 20+ years in the business. The book is due to be published next year.

Giving Julia Stone and Missy Higgins a run for their money as our favourite Australian singer, the poetically inclined Holly Throsby releases her third international album, A Loud Call, on July 14th. We couldn't find any specific information about a UK release, but with Holly making a promotional trip to these shores in August it can't be too far off. Anyway, the new album was mostly recorded in Nashville with Lambchop and Bonnie ‘Prince' Billy producer Mark Nevers, with additional bits and bobs added by long-time producer Tony Dupé back in Kangaroo Valley.

Hot on the heels of their most recent album Lovers Prayers, released in January, entrancing New York collective Ida issue a new EP, My Fair, My Dark, next month. Produced by frequent Ida collaborator Warn Defever of His Names Is Alive and featuring artwork by Tara Jane O'Neil, the EP sees Elizabeth Mitchell and co. interpret the likes of Dolly Parton, Anne Briggs, John & Beverley Martyn, and David Schickele, the late uncle of Ida's Karla Schickele. Two new originals and a live version of ‘Late Blues' are also thrown in for good measure. Rounding out the special guest list are Michael Hurley on fiddle and Levon Helm of The Band on mandolin and drums.

Jennifer O'Connor releases her fourth album, Here With Me, on Matador Records next month. Featuring members of The Hold Steady and Ben Folds Five, the album was produced, recorded and mixed over a 12-day period by Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr collaborator John Agnello at Headgear studios in Brooklyn. Matador reckon she'd be a contender for the Nobel Prize for Witty Pop Songs with Heart, if such a thing existed. Listen to ‘Valley Road ‘86' for free and judge for yourself.

With the weather in the UK as unpredictable for the season as ever, rest assured that a certain trio of ladies are Looking Into It. After four long years, Portland's sunniest and most aptly named export All Girl Summer Fun Band return at the end of September with their third album. They may have lost their bassist Ari Douangpayna along the way (not, thankfully, to anything untoward) but the band have forged ahead without her to make Looking Into It as good as anything they've done to date. Or so we read in an early review; there's not much info out there yet for this release. Watch this space.

Having almost completed her second album, tentatively titled Stuck On The Naughty Step, Lily Allen is rumoured to be working with Lindsay Lohan. OK! Magazine claims the two collaborated on a song called ‘Wherever You Go' at a studio in Los Angeles. Allen's response? The default photo on her Myspace player is now a pic of Lohan.

Anyway, if true, Allen may join Pharrell Williams, Akon, Ne-Yo and Snoop Dogg as guests on Lohan's upcoming third album (possibly called Spirit In The Dark, possibly not). It's allegedly the best thing she's ever done, which, given the consistent mediocrity of her recorded output to date, shouldn't be too taxing.

These guys are pretty sleek! They are not actually partnering with any of the 3 IDA-appointed vendors and are not even using the IDA SIP subsidy. Instead, they have come up with a range of Business Website Plans and applied the S$1,000.00 discount of each of the plans!

You could already be excited to receive an automatic S$1,000.00 discount by now! Let's look at what is up on offer. Their cheapest package is the Home Biz plan which costs S$497.00 after discount. That is a decent price for a basic website. The thing is, usually, such a price stands for a website that consists of less than 10 static pages with barely any cool features.

But the offer seems to be fully loaded; inclusive of domain name, unlimited email address (usually you get 5 to 10 email addresses only) and training to update the website. A quick check on their website shows that the package also gives you unlimited number of pages, updates, users and templates. Gosh, that's a buffet of unlimited stuff!

Ok, so let's cool off the hype as we scrutinise the details. You still need to pay for hosting, which comes in 2 options; 500 Mb for a single domain or 1,000 Mb for unlimited domains. Let's take the cheaper option (500 Mb) and the total cost will be S$917.00.

Although Think Gold Internet isn't utilising the IDA subsidy, let's just apply the conditions and subsidy. Based on conditions, the package may not (not sure about this) be eligible as it does not offer broadband services. If we were to apply the subsidies, the cost would be 50% of S$420.00 (hosting) and the balance (S$1,000.00 - S$210.00 = S$790.00) will offset the website plan. This means, you would have had to pay S$917.00; which is their offer price.

Perhaps if broadband was included in the package, you would have to pay slightly above S$400.00 more. Then again, if you are in an office, you would probably already have broadband. And if you are not yet operating in a proper office, you may not need broadband.

The offer for the broadband services is actually very good! Especially if you take up the 1.5 Mbps, you get 50% off! So that's awesome.

So the subsidy grants that you can cover 50% of broadband cost, 50% of web hosting cost, and 80% of development cost. In this case, the package has utilised the first 2 (broadband and hosting).

Let's look at the conditions. In order to qualify, the criterias are:

1. You do not already own a website
2. Your purchase includes the development of a website or web pages for your business
3. You have not claimed under this initiative before

The package does not comply with the 2nd condition yet. However, there is a statement at the bottom of the offer: ...website design available at special rate.

The subsidy has a cap of S$1000.00 for each of the first 5,000 SME. Taking up the 1.5 Mbps package means that you will still have just a little over S$500.00 to subsidies from your web development cost. If that makes up 80% of your development cost, you will need to spend at least S$125.00. Add that to the discounted cost of broadband and hosting, and you would be actually forking out about S$700.00.

If you take up the other package...well, perhaps you would not get much of a website, if any.

A decent deal if you require very basic online presence. It's not clear though whether AceLink Solutions offer the web development package at a price of S$625.00. If they do, you should be able to get a few static pages, maybe a little fancy Flash animation and that's it.

You should be curious though on what they would be offering after 18 August...

På morgonen när vi vaknat så gick vi in till Patricia där några fortsatte att sova i vardagsrummet men jag så på "Den lilla sjöjungfrun" på Disney Channel. 8.30 så åt vi morgonmål och sedan tog flickorna ner tältet men Lucas och jag såg på barnprogramm och var med Selina! :P Halv ett for jag hem för att äta. Jag gjorde krullspaghetti (nudlar)! Sen gick jag i duschen och sen spelade jag GTA.  Senare ringde Lucas och frågade om han kunde komma till mej och han fick och vi fortsatte att spela GTA och sen kollade vi på gitarrer på Thomann.

BTW... Imorron kan jag inte komma ut, jag ska till farmor och farfar och jobba.
