The Liberator Flagship Store in Atlanta: Worth Exploring

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align:center;">
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="474" caption="The Liberator Flagship Store in Atlanta: Worth Exploring"]<a href="http://freedomworldwideltd.com/features_store.htm"><img title="Worth Exploring" src="http://freedomworldwideltd.com/images/store/PROD_STORE_1.jpg" alt="Worth Exploring" width="474" height="287" /></a>[/caption]
<p>Curving through the industrial park, glancing at the large brick warehouses and factories on either side, we weren't sure that we were in the right place. Mind you, Atlanta's premiere S&#38;M dungeon is in a similar park, but it still wasn't where we expected to find the flagship store now famous for the <a href="http://www.coedmagazine.com/tag/sex-ramp" target="_blank">big blue sex cushion</a> that George Clooney and Tilda Swinton enjoy in <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0887883/" target="_blank">Burn After Reading</a>! But, we were on the right path, and it was worth well worth the 1.5 hour trip from Athens, GA. Tentatively stepping up the short flight of stairs and ringing the bell, we were ushered into a lush and luxurious palace of decadent sexuality: <a href="http://freedomworldwideltd.com/features_store.htm#" target="_blank">The Liberator Flagship Store</a>. I had never before seen a store like this; a posh sexual playground filled with premium toys, exclusive lingerie styles, and a cornucopia of sexual gear and furniture that make George Clooney's character (and his homemade basement <a href="http://exploringintimacy.wordpress.com/2008/09/09/twisted-tuesday-fetish-sex-machines/" target="_blank">monkey rocker</a>) look unimaginative. Read the details, and view more photos, after the jump:</p>
<p><!--more-->The good folks at Liberator know how to do it. They run two different stores, one for <a href="http://freedomworldwideltd.com/index.htm" target="_blank">adventurous sexy</a> times, and one for <a href="http://www.theooh.com/" target="_blank">family-friendly comfort</a> with a discreet subsection of sexual aids. Note that Clooney's wedge cushion is in both photos, but with different uses. Their products (sex shapes and sex furniture) are made of high quality foam covered in a delicious, washable velvety fabric. The shapes are solid foam pieces, like that wedge, and tend to be smaller, although some are the size of the small chaise lounge in my hotel room right now (hmm...). The larger items, like the heavenly <a href="http://freedomworldwideltd.com/products_zeppelin_lounger.htm" target="_blank">Zeppelin</a>, are made of smaller chunks of foam. Shapes, by the way, come in wider versions for wider bodies, as well as taller sizes. Yay!</p>
<p>Ok, so back to the store. When you walk in, you are immediately greeted by a show room featuring every one of their luscious pieces of sexual playground gear. Climb on the Equus, or sink into the Zeppelin. Peep at the bottom of many, and you just might discover rings for some optional, sensual bondage play. Our attention was split, though. In addition to these heavenly, large items, there were delightful racks of lingerie and shelves upon shelves of premium toys. <a href="http://freedomworldwideltd.com/products_lingerie_gamma.htm" target="_blank">Their lingerie</a> is designed in-house from high quality leather, satin, lace, and even <a href="http://exploringintimacy.wordpress.com/2008/08/26/tuesdays-twisted-fetish-latex/" target="_blank">latex</a>. Ready to get even racier? Their <a href="http://freedomworldwideltd.com/products_roleplay_gamma.htm" target="_blank">Zomi line</a> of bondage gear features brocade and satin items that are erotic to the eye as well as the skin. I lightly wrapped a cuff around my partner's wrist, and we both made a mental note to add them to our holiday wish list. They appear strong enough for at least moderate-intensity play, I might add. Want something silkier, still? Try their long strips of cool, <a href="http://freedomworldwideltd.com/products_roleplay_silksash.htm" target="_blank">smooth satin</a> for decorative bondage.</p>
<p>As if that wasn't enough, display cases offered impressive art-glass dildos and locally made s&#38;m gear for the rougher set. Beyond that, shelves of <a href="http://freedomworldwideltd.com/products_toys_gamma.htm" target="_blank">premium vibes</a> called to us. Every vibe is charged, and all insertables are on open display. Pick them up, turn them on, and make an informed purchasing decision. No $10 hard plastic vibes here, ever item is high quality and worthy of using to seduce your lover of yourself. Needless to say, all items are phthalate free. A rare situation exists in this store: their range of toys is even greater there than on their website! They also carry a solid selection of quality edible, vaginal and anal lubricants.</p>
<p>The entire time we were there, we were the only customers. This made for a wonderful shopping experience. The store is staffed by one person, a wonderful guy who gave us a great tour of both stores, and was there to answer our questions without intruding. There are grand plans for The Liberator Flagship Store, including educational offerings and more. You really don't need that kind of reason to visit, though. Seriously, if you find yourself anywhere in the area, then it is time for a highly sensual road trip!</p>

<h4>Iraqi President Praises Bush as Liberator of Iraq</h4>
<p>By Gerry J. Gilmore<br />

<tr>
<td>WASHINGTON, Sept. 10, 2008 - The Iraqi people look upon President Bush as a liberator who delivered them from a brutal despot, Iraq's chief executive told reporters at the White House today.Bush is a hero who saved Iraq "from the worst kind of dictatorship" under Saddam Hussein, President Jalal Talabani said.</p>
<p>And Iraq has "no stronger defender" for its people than Talabani, Bush told reporters after meeting with the Iraqi president. Talabani has served as Iraq's president since 2005.</p>
<p>"I've known him for a long time," Bush said of Talabani, an Iraqi from the Kurdish region in the north. Talabani underwent heart surgery last month at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.</p>
<p>Talabani "cares deeply about the Iraqi people," Bush said, "and he has been a strong defender of human liberty."</p>
<p>Increased security brought about by the success of the surge has enabled Iraqis to rebuild their lives and the United States to withdraw some 8,000 troops by February, Bush said.</p>
<p>"Iraqis want there to be fewer U.S. troops; the United States wants there to be fewer U.S. troops," Bush said. "But, both of us want to realize that vision based upon success."</p>
<p>Iraq and the United States are putting the finishing touches on a strategic framework agreement, Talabani said, that will define the status of U.S. forces in Iraq after the U.N. Security Council resolution expires at the end of the year.</p>
<p>With violence having greatly decreased in Iraq over the past year, Talabani said, his government and the United States have achieved notable success against terrorism in Iraq.</p>
<p>"So, we are thankful to you and to your people, your Army," Talabani said to Bush. "We hope that the agreement about this strategic relation will be signed soon." Meanwhile, the Iraqi parliament is now working to finalize the draft of new election legislation, Talabani said. Iraq is heavily involved in reconstruction projects, he added, noting his government "is rebuilding the country."</p>
<p>Talabani also reported that Iraq has improving relations with neighbors like Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Iran and other Middle Eastern countries. In fact, the United Arab Emirates recently posted its ambassador to Iraq in Baghdad. Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain also have named ambassadors to Iraq, but they haven't taken up their posts as of yet.</p>
<p>The Iraqi president also expressed his hope that American and Iraqi friendship "will continue and will be strengthened."</p>
<p>"We will never forget what you have done," Talabani said to Bush.</td>

<description><![CDATA[Primary Documents: Sir Roger Casement&#8217;s Speech Following his Conviction as a Traitor, 29 June ]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.firstworldwar.com/source/dublin_casement.htm">Primary Documents: Sir Roger Casement's Speech Following his Conviction as a Traitor, 29 June 1916</a><br />
As I wish my words to reach a much wider audience than I see before me here, I intend to read all that I propose to say.</p>
<p>What I shall read now is something I wrote more than twenty days ago. There is an objection possibly not good in law but surely good on moral grounds against the application to me here of this English statute, 565 years old, that seeks to deprive an Irishman to-day of life and honour, not for "adhering to the King's enemies" but for adhering to his own people.</p>
<p>When this statute was passed, in 1351, what was the state of men's minds on the question of a far higher allegiance - that of man to God and His Kingdom?</p>
<p>The law of that day did not permit a man to forsake his Church or deny his God save with his life. The heretic then had the same doom as the traitor. Today a man may forswear God and His Heavenly Realm without fear or penalty, all earlier statutes having gone the way of Nero's edicts against the Christians; but that constitutional phantom the King can still dig up from the dungeons and torture chambers of the Dark Ages a law that takes a man's life and limb for an exercise of conscience.</p>
<p>Loyalty is a sentiment, not a law. It rests on Love, not on restraint. The government of Ireland by England rests on restraint and not on law; and, since it demands no love, it can evoke no loyalty. Judicial assassination today is reserved only for one race of the King's subjects, for Irishmen; for those who cannot forget their allegiance to the realm of Ireland.</p>
<p>What is the fundamental charter of an Englishman's liberty? That he shall be tried by his peers. With all respect I assert that this court is to me, an Irishman, a foreign court - this jury is for me, an Irishman, not a jury of my peers.</p>
<p>It is patent to every man of conscience that I have an indefeasible right, if tried at all under this statute of high treason, to be tried in Ireland, before an Irish court, and by an Irish jury.</p>
<p>This court, this jury, the public opinion of this country, England, cannot but be prejudiced in varying degree against me, most of all in time of war. From this court and its jurisdiction I appeal to those I am alleged to have wronged, and to those I am alleged to have injured by my "evil example," and claim that they alone are competent to decide my guilt or my innocence.</p>
<p>This is so fundamental a right, so natural a right, so obvious a right, that it is clear the Crown were aware of it when they brought me by force and by stealth from Ireland to this country. It was not I who landed in England, but the Crown who dragged me here, away from my own country, to which I had returned with a price upon my head, away from my own countrymen, whose loyalty is not in doubt, and safe from the judgment of my peers, whose judgment I do not shrink from.</p>
<p>I admit no other judgment but theirs. I accept no verdict save at their hands.</p>
<p>I assert from this dock that I am being tried here not because it is just, but because it is unjust. My counsel has referred to the Ulster Volunteer movement, and I will not touch at length upon that ground, save only to say that neither I nor any of the leaders of the Irish Volunteers, who were founded in Dublin in November, 1913, had quarrel with the Ulster Volunteers as such, who were born a year earlier.</p>
<p>Our movement was not directed against them, but against the men who misused and misdirected the courage, the sincerity, and the local patriotism of the men of the North of Ireland. On the contrary, we welcomed the coming of the Ulster Volunteers, even while we deprecated the aims and intentions of those Englishmen who sought to pervert to an English party use - to the mean purposes of their own bid for place and power in England - the armed activities of simple Irishmen.</p>
<p>We aimed at winning the Ulster Volunteers to the cause of a united Ireland - we aimed at uniting all Irishmen in a natural and national bond of cohesion based on mutual self-respect. Our hope was a natural one, and, if left to ourselves, not hard to accomplish.</p>
<p>If external influences of disintegration would but leave us alone, we were sure that nature itself must bring us together. It was not the Irish Volunteers who broke the law, but a British party.</p>
<p>The Government had permitted the Ulster Volunteers to be armed by Englishmen to threaten not merely an English party in its hold on office, but to threaten that party through the lives and blood of Irishmen. Our choice lay between submitting to foreign lawlessness and resisting it, and we did not hesitate. I for one was determined that Ireland was much more to me than empire, and that if charity begins at home so must loyalty.</p>
<p>Since arms were so necessary to make our organization a reality and to give to the minds of Irishmen menaced with the most outrageous threats a sense of security, it was our bounden duty to get arms before all else.</p>
<p>I decided with this end in view to go to America. If, as the right honourable gentleman, the present Attorney General, asserted in a speech at Manchester, Nationalists would neither fight for home rule nor pay for it, it was our duty to show him that we knew how to do both.</p>
<p>Then came the war. As Mr. Birrell said in his evidence recently laid before the Commission of Inquiry into the causes of the late rebellion in Ireland, "The war upset all our calculations."</p>
<p>It upset mine no less than Mr. Birrell's, and put an end to my mission of peaceful effort in America. War between Great Britain and Germany meant, as I believed, ruin for all the hopes we had founded on the enrolment of the Irish Volunteers.</p>
<p>I felt over there in America that my first duty was to keep Irishmen at home in the only army that could safeguard our national existence. If small nationalities were to be the pawns in this game of embattled giants, I saw no reason why Ireland should shed her blood in any cause but her own, and if that be treason beyond the seas I am not ashamed to avow it or to answer for it here with my life.</p>
<p>And when we had the doctrine of Unionist loyalty at last, "Mausers and Kaisers and any King you like," I felt I needed no other warrant than that these words conveyed - to go forth and do likewise. The difference between us was that the Unionist champions chose a path which they felt would lead to the Woolsack, while I went a road that I knew must lead to the dock.</p>
<p>And the event proves that we were both right. But let me say that I am prouder to stand here today in the traitor's dock to answer this impeachment than to fill the place of my accusers. If there be no right of rebellion against a state of things that no savage tribe would endure without resistance, then am I sure that it is better for men to fight and die without right than to live in such a state of right as this.</p>
<p>Where all your rights become only an accumulated wrong; where men must beg with bated breath for leave to subsist in their own land, to think their own thoughts, to sing their own songs, to garner the fruit of their own labours - and even while they beg to see these things inexorably withdrawn from them - then surely it is a braver, a saner, and a truer thing to be a rebel in act and deed against such circumstances as this than tamely to accept it as the natural lot of men.</p>
<p>My Lord, I have done. Gentlemen of the Jury, I wish to thank you for your verdict. I hope you will not think that I made any imputation upon your truthfulness or your integrity when I said that this was not a trial by my peers.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="color:#800000;"><strong>Etymology of liberty</strong> </span></p>
<p>The ancient Greek word for the adjective free was <strong><em>elitheros</em></strong>. Its Aeolic form was <em><strong>eliferos</strong></em> (e-lifer-os). The root <strong><em>lifer-</em></strong> became <em><strong>liber-</strong></em> in Latin and it was adopted by several European languages.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color:#993300;">From this root:</span></strong> <em><strong>liberty, liberal, liberate, liberation, liberator, liberally, liberality, liberalist, liberalize, libertinism, libertine, libertarian.<br />
</strong></em><br />
<strong><span style="color:#3333ff;">In modern Greek:<br />
</span></strong>a) <strong><em><span style="color:#3333ff;">eleftheros</span></em></strong>: free<br />
b) <em><strong><span style="color:#3333ff;">eleftheria</span></strong></em>: freedom<br />

<p class="MsoNormal">“The others followed suit . . . sliding down into what looked like a chaotic junkyard, about the size of a school gym. Johnny wondered if he was ever going to see the type of gleaming hi-tech spaceship he’d always imagined.”</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:right;"><em>JM&#38;tSoL, p.81</em></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">When we watch science fiction films or TV shows, spaceships are normally spotlessly clean and tidy. The <em>Discovery One</em> of Kubrick/Clarke’s <em>2001: A Space Odyssey</em> would be the perfect pristine example if it weren’t for the mess going on inside computer HAL’s brain. From James Tiberius Kirk’s starship <em>Enterprise</em> through to Roj Blake’s <em>Liberator</em>, once we leave the shackles of Earth it seems nothing is ever the slightest bit out of place (even in zero G).</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">In real life things are seldom like that. I hate to disappoint any parents reading this, but I have to tell you that Johnny’s quarters on the <em>Spirit of London</em> are just as untidy as his bedroom back in Halader House.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">At the UK’s <a title="National Space Centre website" href="http://www.spacecentre.co.uk/" target="_blank">National Space Centre</a> in Leicester, there’s a mockup of one module of the <a title="ESA's ISS page" href="http://www.esa.int/esaHS/iss.html" target="_blank">International Space Station</a>:</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">It’s informative to see how the same module looks in Earth orbit:</p>

When a serving president cannot visit the capital of his own country because of fears for his safet]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong><a href="http://None"></a><a href="http://None"></a><a href="http://None"></a><a href="http://None"></a><a href="http://None"></a><a href="http://None"></a><a href="http://None"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-269" src="http://stampcollector.wordpress.com/files/2008/06/080526-sucre_011.jpg" alt="" width="495" height="331" /></a></strong></p>
<p><strong>When a serving president cannot visit the capital of his own country because of fears for his safety, something must be rotten in Denmark.</strong></p>
<p>A week ago <a href="http://http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sucre">Sucre, the constitutional capital of Bolivia</a>, was about to celebrate the most important day in its calendar, 25 de Mayo, the day back in 1809 when the first calls were heard for freedom from Spanish rule.</p>
<p>Normally, 25 de Mayo is a joyous day, a time of parades, candy floss and family fun in the whitewashed streets of the colonial city.</p>
<p>But this year was different. The memory of how three students were killed by national police amid protests last November hung over proceedings. And then the nation’s president, Evo Morales, was coming to town for the first time since their deaths.</p>
<p><!--more--></p>
<p><a href="http://None"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-268" src="http://stampcollector.wordpress.com/files/2008/06/080526-sucre_007.jpg" alt="" width="495" height="331" /></a></p>
<p>TV reporters - skirting past anti-press graffiti from supporters of the president - appeared in the main square as soon as the president announced he would come to Sucre, asking passers-by their opinion: would El Presidente be welcome or not?</p>
<p>And while things may have appeared normal in the genteel environs of the city centre, there were clear signs that perhaps Evo’s visit might not go down so swimmingly.</p>
<p><a href="http://None"></a><a href="http://None"></a><a href="http://None"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-270" src="http://stampcollector.wordpress.com/files/2008/06/080526-sucre_013.jpg" alt="" width="331" height="495" /></a></p>
<p>Inside Bolivia’s foremost historical museum, the Casa de la Libertad, visitors can see where the country first shook off the Spanish yoke almost 200 years ago. In the chamber where Bolivia’s first session of Congress was convened, a large portrait of <a href="http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sim%C3%B3n_Bol%C3%ADvar">Simon Bolivar, the Liberator</a>, hangs auspiciously above the gilded seat from where the country’s first laws were promulgated.</p>
<p>Our guide around the museum was urbane, full of interesting historical tidbits and told his stories with a wry smile.</p>
<p>He spoke with genuine vigour, telling tales of Spanish colonial rule, of the legendary wealth of Potosi’s silver mines, and of the liberation of Latin America in the early 19th century.</p>
<p>Then he gestured towards the huge portraits of Bolivar and <a href="http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonio_Jos%C3%A9_de_Sucre">Jose Antonio Sucre</a>, whose name the city still bears.</p>
<p>"Do either of them look like Bolivians?"</p>
<p><a href="http://None"></a><a href="http://None"></a><a href="http://None"></a><a href="http://None"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-271" src="http://stampcollector.wordpress.com/files/2008/06/080526-sucre_015.jpg" alt="" width="495" height="331" /></a></p>
<p>The answer, quite evidently, was no. Bolivar was a Venezuelan and Sucre born in Peru, both of creole origin - Spanish by blood but born in the colonies.</p>
<p>A few minutes later our guide asked us the question again, this time in a room decorated with dozens of portraits of Bolivia’s post-independence presidents.</p>
<p>"Do any of them look Bolivian to you?"</p>
<p>The answer was obvious. The only one of Bolivia’s 65 rulers not drawn from the white, elite classes is the current president.</p>
<p>Evo Morales’ portrait is a scruffy affair, the brush strokes neither as exact nor perhaps as deliberate as those in the more classical portraits around him. The angle of view seems a little distant, leaving the impression of empty space around the president’s slightly-too-small head.</p>
<p>Even here, hanging quietly in a corner surrounded by images of his predecessors, among them some well-intentioned men and some downright brutes, Evo stands out as different.</p>
<p>Our guide moved seamlessly from history to politics. His delivery remained the same, but his message was deadly serious.</p>
<p>He told us how Bolivia swept Morales to power, electing him not only as the first indigenous president, but as the first president to win more than 50% of the vote outright. He told us of the hopes and dreams as Bolivia’s impoverished millions celebrated having "one of us" in the presidential palace.</p>
<p><a href="http://None"></a><a href="http://None"></a><a href="http://None"></a><a href="http://None"></a><a href="http://None"></a><a href="http://None"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-272" src="http://stampcollector.wordpress.com/files/2008/06/080526-sucre_021.jpg" alt="" width="495" height="331" /></a></p>
<p>Then he told us how things have gone wrong under Morales’ rule. The price of bread, we were told, has increased dramatically in the past two years. Our guide did not blame the president directly, but neither did he mention the global rise of food prices. The inference was clear.</p>
<p>He went on, complaining - always in that urbane, well-spoken way of his - that the president was too involved with channeling money to his supporters in the highlands to bother much with those elsewhere.</p>
<p>For evidence he cited movements towards autonomy in Santa Cruz, the country’s gas-rich eastern department, and several other regions away from Bolivia’s Altiplano.</p>
<p>Money in Bolivia flows first to La Paz and only then elsewhere, and all at the whim of the government, we were told.</p>
<p>On the streets of Sucre, a city as urbane and educated as the museum guide himself, Morales was still being blamed for the events of last November.</p>
<p>Graffiti bearing the legend "Evo asesino" - "Evo murderer" - remains tagged prominently on city walls, and mock "Wanted" posters call on the president to bring to justice to those policemen suspected of firing the fatal shots.</p>
<p>The night before Morales was due in Sucre hundreds of students gathered to confront riot police near the city’s football stadium, where the president was scheduled to speak the following lunchtime. Ugly clashes followed, and the sounds of gunfire - blank, live or whatever I know not what - peppered the night silence.</p>
<p><a href="http://None"></a><a href="http://None"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-273" src="http://stampcollector.wordpress.com/files/2008/06/080526-sucre_027.jpg" alt="" width="495" height="331" /></a></p>
<p>The next morning it was announced that the president had decided to call off his visit. Riot police were still out in force in the city’s streets, marching in formation in the direction of the stadium, sent on their way by a volley of hoots and hollers from the ordinary people of Sucre.</p>
<p>Last November’s violence came after an argument about whether to take away Sucre’s status as Bolivia’s constitutional capital. Now it appears lingering resentment in the city may have swung Sucre - and perhaps even the whole <a href="http://http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Departamento_de_Chuquisaca">department of Chuqisaca </a>- against the president.</p>
<p>"I voted for Evo Morales last time, but I won’t again," one student told me in the city’s main square, decked out for 25 de Mayo in the livery of Chuqisaca’s burgeoning autonomy movement.</p>
<p>For Evo Morales all of this is more than just mid-term blues. His response to an overwhelming "yes" vote for autonomy in Santa Cruz has been to call what is in effect a nationwide "back me or sack me" vote now scheduled for August.</p>
<p>Back in the museum, our guide summed things up before bidding us farewell.</p>
<p>"The 19th century was the era of tin, the era of mining, the era of the highlands. The 20th century was the era of La Paz. The 21st century seems to be the era of Santa Cruz.</p>
<p>"Are you staying for the party tomorrow? There will be fireworks, that’s for sure - we just don’t know what kind yet."</p>
<p><a href="http://None"></a><a href="http://None"></a><a href="http://None"></a><a href="http://None"></a><a href="http://None"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-274" src="http://stampcollector.wordpress.com/files/2008/06/080526-sucre_028.jpg" alt="" width="331" height="495" /></a></p>

<p>i) Den nye redaktion har <a href="http://www.liberator.dk/debatforum/index.php?showtopic=1370&#38;start=0&#38;p=17108&#38;#entry17108">valgt at skille debatforummet og liberator ad</a>.

<p>Here is a comment I made in response to <a href="http://halpinsblog.wordpress.com/2008/04/30/salvation-as-liberation-2/#comments">Halpin's</a> latest post.</p>
<p>I did some thinking on the Great Commission today. There are four commands Jesus gives His disciples.</p>
<p>1. Go</p>
<p>2. Make disciples</p>
<p>3. Baptize them</p>
<p>4. Teach them</p>
<p>There is no sinners prayer found in this context. I still believe that one can be a follower of Jesus with the Prayer because there is no magic formula. But it is good to understand what Jesus was telling His disciples. I believe that He was telling them to go and and spread the kingdom of God. Following Jesus is more about being the salt and light of this world than about being saved from the flames of hell. That is the problem with the sinners prayer. It is put into the context of saving us from hell. There is no challenge to change. This is the new Great Commission given by the modern day church:</p>
<p>1. Go to church</p>
<p>2. Make converts</p>
<p>3. Lead them in the sinners prayer</p>
<p>4. Teach them that God is upset with their sin so that they become legalistic</p>
<p>5. Make sure you don’t miss church</p>
<p>We are the Church! Where we are, there Church is. Being a follower of Jesus is more about showing mercy than it is about sacrifice. Less rules, more love. Jesus came to set us free. He is indeed our liberator! Let’s get busy spreading His kingdom here on earth. Grace and peace to you.</p>
<p>Because of Jesus,</p>

Kite Liberator should be familiar with fans of Kite and Mezzo - Danger Service Agency. All of them]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://kirayamato04.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/kite-liberator-header.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-547" src="http://kirayamato04.wordpress.com/files/2008/04/kite-liberator-header.jpg" alt="" width="75" height="75" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://kirayamato04.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/snapshot20080420203523.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-548" src="http://kirayamato04.wordpress.com/files/2008/04/snapshot20080420203523.jpg" alt="" width="640" height="352" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://myanimelist.net/anime.php?id=3323"><span style="color:#ff0000;"><strong>Kite Liberator</strong></span></a> should be familiar with fans of <a href="http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=163"><span style="color:#ff0000;"><strong>Kite</strong></span></a> and <a href="http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=3059"><span style="color:#ff0000;"><strong>Mezzo - Danger Service Agency</strong></span></a>. All of them are directed by Yasuomi Umetsu. All 3 above has violence, gore, sex and nudity as their basic elements thoroughout their story. Kite Liberator is a continuation from the earlier series Kite, focusing on <strong>Monaka</strong>, a normal shy high school student in the day and takes assassination missions during the night under the name of <em><strong>Angel of Death</strong></em>. Monaka's father is an astronaut, working in space and havent seen her for the past 4 years. Later in the story, he will transform into a alien monster as a result of getting over-exposed to the sun rays and the space food sample that they have eaten. There's no indication how many episodes as the ending is a bit 'loose' and I myself hope there is at least another one to complete the story.</p>
<p><!--more--></p>
<p>For Kite Liberator (compared to Kite and Mezzo) there is two major differences that I could see in the animation itself. <span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong><em>First</em></strong></span> is the massive usage of <strong>3DCG</strong>s. Images below</p>
<p><a href="http://kirayamato04.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/snapshot20080420202929.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-549" src="http://kirayamato04.wordpress.com/files/2008/04/snapshot20080420202929.jpg" alt="" width="640" height="352" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://kirayamato04.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/snapshot20080420202918.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-550" src="http://kirayamato04.wordpress.com/files/2008/04/snapshot20080420202918.jpg?w=128" alt="" width="128" height="70" /></a><a href="http://kirayamato04.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/snapshot20080420202900.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-551" src="http://kirayamato04.wordpress.com/files/2008/04/snapshot20080420202900.jpg?w=128" alt="" width="128" height="70" /></a><a href="http://kirayamato04.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/snapshot20080420202821.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-552" src="http://kirayamato04.wordpress.com/files/2008/04/snapshot20080420202821.jpg?w=128" alt="" width="128" height="70" /></a><a href="http://kirayamato04.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/snapshot20080420202749.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-553" src="http://kirayamato04.wordpress.com/files/2008/04/snapshot20080420202749.jpg?w=128" alt="" width="128" height="70" /></a><a href="http://kirayamato04.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/snapshot20080420204703.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-554" src="http://kirayamato04.wordpress.com/files/2008/04/snapshot20080420204703.jpg?w=128" alt="" width="128" height="70" /><br />
</a></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><em><strong>Second</strong></em></span> is the character's facial impression (I dont what these are called) that I sincerely think they are not necessary for the anime. Images below</p>
<p><a href="http://kirayamato04.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/snapshot20080420203621.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-555" src="http://kirayamato04.wordpress.com/files/2008/04/snapshot20080420203621.jpg?w=128" alt="" width="128" height="70" /></a><a href="http://kirayamato04.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/snapshot20080420203916.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-556" src="http://kirayamato04.wordpress.com/files/2008/04/snapshot20080420203916.jpg?w=128" alt="" width="128" height="70" /></a><a href="http://kirayamato04.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/snapshot20080420204222.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-557" src="http://kirayamato04.wordpress.com/files/2008/04/snapshot20080420204222.jpg?w=128" alt="" width="128" height="70" /></a><a href="http://kirayamato04.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/snapshot20080420204820.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-558" src="http://kirayamato04.wordpress.com/files/2008/04/snapshot20080420204820.jpg?w=128" alt="" width="128" height="70" /></a></p>
<p>There's not much action in Kite Liberator compared to Kite and Mezzo, but the amount of violence and gore is simply top notch</p>
<p><a href="http://kirayamato04.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/snapshot20080420203041.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-559" src="http://kirayamato04.wordpress.com/files/2008/04/snapshot20080420203041.jpg" alt="" width="640" height="352" /></a></p>

<p>I wont make any comments for this particular OVA yet and still hoping for another episode to complete it. Other than that, overall - Kite Liberator have some improvements in its presentation with the usage of 3DCGs and obviously there wont be much character developments in such a short amount of time, so you can see characters pop-out out of nowhere.</p>

<description><![CDATA[People seem to like code snippets and tutorials, so here is a quick run through of the basics of usi]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>People seem to like code snippets and tutorials, so here is a quick run through of the basics of using <a href="http://www.freeliberator.com">Liberator</a> to create a streaming Comet application.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.freeliberator.com">Liberator</a> provides you with a JavaScript library called StreamLink for Browsers (or SL4B). This is used to build real time web pages that talk to Liberator. SL4B can be used in two ways: one requires no JavaScript programming at all and the other provides a rich JavaScript API based on subscriptions and callbacks.</p>
<h2>No JavaScript</h2>
<p>SL4B can make a web page live by simply adding attributes to HTML tags. A typical example of this is making an HTML table contain live FX prices. To achieve this there are two things to change on your HTML page.</p>
<p>Firstly, add a script tag to load the SL4B library:</p>
<pre><code>
<font color="red">&#60;script id=&#8221;sl4b&#8221;
        type=&#8221;text/javascript&#8221;
        src=&#8221;/sl4b/index.js&#8221;
        configurationfile=&#8221;common-attributes.js&#8221;
        includertml=&#8221;includertml&#8221;&#62;
&#60;/script&#62;</font>

</code></pre>
<p>And secondly, add some attributes to the HTML:</p>
<pre><code>
&#60;table&#62;
  &#60;tr&#62;
    &#60;th&#62;Currency&#60;/th&#62;
    &#60;th&#62;Bid&#60;/th&#62;
    &#60;th&#62;Ask&#60;/th&#62;
  &#60;/tr&#62;
  &#60;tr&#62;
    &#60;td&#62;EUR&#60;/td&#62;
    &#60;td <font color="red">id=&#8221;quote&#8221; symbol=&#8221;/FX/EUR&#8221; field=&#8221;dBestBid&#8221;</font>&#62;-&#60;/td&#62;
    &#60;td <font color="red">id=&#8221;quote&#8221; symbol=&#8221;/FX/EUR&#8221; field=&#8221;dBestAsk&#8221;</font>&#62;-&#60;/td&#62;
  &#60;/tr&#62;
  &#60;tr&#62;
  &#60;td&#62;GBP&#60;/td&#62;
    &#60;td <font color="red">id=&#8221;quote&#8221; symbol=&#8221;/FX/GBP&#8221; field=&#8221;dBestBid&#8221;</font>&#62;-&#60;/td&#62;
    &#60;td <font color="red">id=&#8221;quote&#8221; symbol=&#8221;/FX/GBP&#8221; field=&#8221;dBestAsk&#8221;</font>&#62;-&#60;/td&#62;
  &#60;/tr&#62;
&#60;/table&#62;

</code></pre>
<p>The above HTML has been enhanced with three extra attributes to the <code>&#60;td&#62;</code> tags:</p>
<p>The standard <code>id</code> attribute has been set to <code>"quote"</code>. This allows the SL4B library to find all the HTML elements that might require real time data. A custom attribute called <code>"symbol"</code> is used to specify the subject to subscribe to, and another custom attribute called <code>"field"</code> specifies the name of the field to display in this HTML element.</p>
<p>Behind the scenes, all this information is collated and subscribed to by the SL4B library. When data is received back from Liberator, the relevant HTML elements are updated with the real time values.</p>
<p>You can see <a href="http://lib1.freeliberator.com/examples/rtml/simple-example.html">an example of this in action</a>.</p>
<h2>Add in some JavaScript programming</h2>
<p>The previous example shows a very simple way to get live data into a web page. There are more things you can do using that style, but if you want more control over what is happening you will probably want an API to program with.</p>
<p>SL4B allows you to make subscriptions and handle the data in callbacks.</p>
<p>The same script tag is needed to load the SL4B library:</p>
<pre><code>
<font color="red">&#60;script id=&#8221;sl4b&#8221;
        type=&#8221;text/javascript&#8221;
        src=&#8221;http://liberator.company.com:8080/sl4b&#8221;
        configurationfile=&#8221;common-attributes.js&#8221;&#62;
&#60;/script&#62;</font>
</pre>
<p>To make subscriptions in SL4B you need to create a subscriber:</p>
<pre><code>
<font color="red">function ExampleSubscriber()
{</font>
    // This is the constructor of our object.

    // Any subclass of SL4B_AbstractSubscriber must call
    // initialise in its constructor. Once initialisation
    // is finished, SL4B will call ready() on this object.
    <font color="red">this.initialise();
}</font>

// Declares that the ExampleSubscriber is a subclass of
// SL4B_AbstractSubscriber
<font color="red">ExampleSubscriber.prototype = new SL4B_AbstractSubscriber();

ExampleSubscriber.prototype.ready =
  function() {</font>
    // Once the SL4B Object has completed
    // this.initialise() it will call ready()
    alert(&#8221;SL4B has connected and is ready&#8221;);
  <font color="red">};

var Subscriber = new ExampleSubscriber();</font>
</pre>
<p>The above code is a bare subscriber, but to be useful it needs to make subscriptions and implement a callback:</p>
<pre><code>
ExampleSubscriber.prototype.ready =
  function() {
    // The fields to subscribe to are in a comma separated
    // list as the third argument of getObject.
    <font color="red">SL4B_Accessor.getRttpProvider().getObject(this,
                    &#8220;/Examples/Records/FX/GBP&#8221;,
                    &#8220;dBestBid,dBestAsk&#8221;);</font>
  };

<font color="red">ExampleSubscriber.prototype.recordMultiUpdated =
  function(sObjectName, oFieldData) {
    var oElement = document.getElementById(&#8217;messages&#8217;)

    for (var i = 0, size = oFieldData.size(); i &#60; size; i = i + 1) {
        oElement.innerHTML = sObjectName+&#8221; &#8220;+
                             oFieldData.getFieldName(i)+&#8221; = &#8220;+
                             oFieldData.getFieldValue(i)+&#8221;&#60;br /&#62;&#8221;+
                             oElement.innerHTML;
    }
  };</font>
</pre>
<p>The additional code above makes a subscription for a subject called /Examples/Records/FX/GBP and implements a callback to handle the returning data. In this case it is simply inserting the data into an HTML element.</p>
<p>You can see <a href="http://lib1.freeliberator.com/examples/sl4b/tutorial.html">a more detailed version of this tutorial</a>, which adds a few more steps to this example and has working examples.</p>
<h2>Providing some data</h2>
<p>Both the above examples assume there is some data available for the subjects subscribed to, e.g. /Examples/Records/FX/GBP. This data has to get into Liberator from somewhere. In some Comet applications the clients provide the data as well as consuming it, but in most financial Comet applications the data is provided on the server side.</p>
<p>The Liberator server receives data from DataSources, a DataSource being a separate process that communicates with Liberator via a socket connection. How this data is created in the DataSource is application specific, but in a typical financial application the DataSource is also connected to a third party data feed and is acting as a protocol converter.</p>
<p>DataSources are usually written in Java and a simple API is provided to do so.</p>
<p>The following code snippet shows the creation of a DataSource. Connections are handled internally and are specified by the configuration file.</p>
<pre><code>
    // Configures the datasource's connectivity - amongst other things
    final File dataSourceConfig = new File("conf/DataSource.xml");
    // Configures the mapping of field numbers to field names
    final File fieldsConfig = new File("conf/Fields.xml");

    // Create our local DataSource
    <font color="red">DataSource datasrc = new DataSource(dataSourceConfig,fieldsConfig);</font>

    // Start the DataSource
    System.out.println(&#8221;Starting DataSource &#8230;&#8221;);
    <font color="red">datasrc.start();</font>
    System.out.println(&#8221;DataSource started&#8221;);
</pre>
<p>To provide data to a Liberator, callbacks must be registered to handle subscriptions and interfaces must be implemented.</p>
<pre><code>
public class Stage2 <font color="red">implements DSRequestListener, DSDiscardListener</font>
{
    public static void main(String[] args)throws IOException, SAXException
    {
        // Configures the datasource&#8217;s connectivity - amongst other things
        final File dataSourceConfig = new File(&#8221;conf/DataSource.xml&#8221;);
        // Configures the mapping of field numbers to field names
        final File fieldsConfig = new File(&#8221;conf/Fields.xml&#8221;);

        // Create our local DataSource
        DataSource datasrc = new DataSource(dataSourceConfig,fieldsConfig);

        // Create a listener for the relevant DataSource message types
        // so we may respond appropriately
        final Stage2 listener = new Stage2();
        // Listen for requests
        <font color="red">datasrc.setDSRequestListener(listener);</font>
        // Listen for discards (un-requests)
        <font color="red">datasrc.setDSDiscardListener(listener);</font>

        // Start the DataSource
        System.out.println(&#8221;Starting DataSource &#8230;&#8221;);
        datasrc.start();
        System.out.println(&#8221;DataSource started&#8221;);
    }

    <font color="red">public void receiveRequest( int peerIndex, String[] subjects )
    {
        for(int i=0;i&#60;subjects.length;i++)
        {
            System.out.println(&#8221;Received request for &#8220;+subjects[i]);
        }
    }</font>

    <font color="red">public void receiveDiscard( int peerIndex, String[] subjects )
    {
        for(int i=0;i&#60;subjects.length;i++)
        {
            System.out.println(&#8221;Received discard for &#8220;+subjects[i]);
        }
    }</font>
</pre>
<p>In this code we are implementing two interface methods and registering them with the created DataSource object. The callbacks are simply logging when requests and discards are received.</p>
<p>To actually respond to a request, a data message must be created and sent back to the Liberator. The following code shows this:</p>
<pre><code>
public void receiveRequest( int peerIndex, String[] subjects )
{
    for(int i=0;i&#60;subjects.length;i++)
    {
        // Create the new record
        <font color="red">DSRecord update = DSFactory.createDSRecord(dataSource, subjects[i]);</font>
        // Populate the new update&#8217;s fields
        <font color="red">update.addRecordData(&#8221;Counter&#8221;, 1234);</font>
        // Send &#8216;Hello, World!&#8217; in the &#8216;Message&#8217; field
        <font color="red">update.addRecordData(&#8221;Message&#8221;, &#8220;Hello, World!&#8221;);</font>
        // Send the update to the peer that requested it
        <font color="red">update.sendToPeer(peerIndex);</font>
    }
}
</pre>
<p>Now we have sent back some initial data for the request, but there isn&#8217;t much point to Comet if you can&#8217;t send further data to a subscription. The same code seen above that sends the initial response can be used to send data at any point. If a discard (or unsubscribe) is received then you should stop sending any data for that subject.</p>
<p>How you send that data is obviously up to you and your application, but purely as a demonstration, the following code will send some subsequent updates every two seconds on a separate thread.</p>
<pre><code>
public void run()
{
    int counter = 0;

    while(alive)
    {
        try
        {
            Thread.sleep(2000);

            DSRecord update = DSFactory.createDSRecord(dataSource, symbol);
            update.addRecordData("Counter", ++counter);
            update.addRecordData("Message", "Hello, World! "+counter);
            update.sendToPeer(peerIndex);
        }
        catch(InterruptedException e)
        {
        }
    }
}
</pre>
