The Republicans, champions of market deregulation, have refused to accept the responsibility of their own economic policies of the last 8 years. The same policies that have allowed for little to no oversight ot the enormous investment banks of Fannie May and Freddie Mac, and the American Investment Group.

They must own their failure. They must acknowledge that the endless so called "War on Terror" is just a slogan, as Sen. Edwards had said. THey use it as a pretext for preventative war and to pour money into what Republican Dwight Esenhower called "The Military Industrial Complex." This is the industry that profits from taxpayer dollars spend on military weapons. They are part and parcel with the Oil and Natural Gas properties that have partnered with them in supporting mulitple wars in oil rich nations.

America used to mean something. To us. To the world. Now we are a shadow of what we used to be. We are a country that doesn't produce much of anyting in goods. We instead enable the indentured servitude of hundreds of thousands if not millions of Asian workers who recive little rights and unsubstantial pay.

The Republicans must own their faliure. Trickle Down economics, a.k.a. supply side economics does not work. Cutting taxes for the wealthiest 2% of our country, as President Bush did, helped to grow our economy by leaps and bounds. Yet the average middle income family lost $2000 of savings during the last 8 years of Republican rule. Never in our history had tax cuts been made right before a War. Now we are in deeper debt. The value of the dollar is weak relative to it's strength under President Clinton.

The bottom line; the rich got richer and the poor got poorer. Take it from me, a person who is clinging to the drain before getting flushed out of the middle class. If a depression comes, it will be clear that the economic policies of the Republicans have been destructive to our economy in every possible way. The same people who want to shrink government have created more government beuracracy. The past eight years have seen the biggest growth in government since the New Deal.

As Chris Matthews said, "The Republicans are trying to take off their jerseys and pretend they haven't been in charge for the past 8 years." They are running against their own party which is proof that their policies have failed!

The “Meaning” of America
Presented As Nothing But My Opinion
Th

~~Posted by kenoshaMarge

The "Meaning" of America

Presented As Nothing But My Opinion

The meaning that I am talking about is the mean-spiritedness that is rampant in the United States and perhaps around the world for all I know. I can only speak of what I know and see. I am not well educated enough to write some scholarly dissertation about it. I articulate how it looks from my perspective. It's
just my opinion folks and if it doesn't jibe with yours I accept beforehand that I should be boiled in oil or stood against a wall and shot.

No day, no hour, hell no minute goes by that there isn't some nasty little twit on television, radio or on some blog tearing into someone for some real or imagined offense. The pile on commences and before long some clumsily expressed thought has a metamorphosis into full-blown conflagration."How dare he/she say that," the pundidiots and blogsnots thunder; while conveniently ignoring that he/she didn't say thatt all.

Television on Friday the 8th of August 2008 is a prime time example of the lunacy perpetrated upon us. Cable "news" was in full-blown hyperventilation over the John Edwards affair. Oh the horror of it all. Hour after hour CNN and FOX wasted our time with this nonsense. Tell what happened and move on. We don't
need nor want to know what every pinhead in teevee land thinks about another story about another politician that couldn't keep his pants zipped. Not like he's an endangered species.

MSNBC may have done the same but since I never watch their sleazy channel I cannot honestly attest that they did. Good heavens right there I am more of a journalist than anyone on their payroll. I don't presume to report without facts. Never get the big bucks that way Marge.

Maybe it's just that we love to be pissed off. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the blogosphere. Safely ensconced behind our keyboards we can venture forth to do battle with those that we find unworthy. All too often that simply means those with whom we disagree. Lest I get smacked down because "you" don't do that, let me say, if the shoe doesn't fit...

It seems to me that there is a tone to our interaction that is in many instances just plain nasty. I am not one of those sweet little old ladies that think we should all get along. I am not, in fact, a sweet anything. I can swap expletives with the best and them and will continue to do so in the future. I simply try to find a balance and try not to head out with all my artillery blazing to shoot down a trifle.

I do not want to play nice with bigots, liars and ignoramuses. I can get mean, nasty, insulting when confronted with idiocy. Mostly, why bother? I have better things to do with my time.

Trolls are vermin that should be eradicated whenever possible and ignored when not. Fact, mean-spiritedness or both?

Converse with an Obama supporter? Why? They love him; I loathe him, what conversation? Obama supporters like to frequent Obama Loathing blogs to hijack a conversation or insist on going over arguments hashed, rehashed and long decided by both sides. Insults are traded, they've hijacked a post and they won.

I wish we could get from the blogosphere what we need to get from our dysfunctional media. Facts. Just facts. For the most part information is so well hidden that most of us have to search out our facts like a damn snipe hunt.

And pieces like this? My opinion. Take it for what it's worth.

Pundidiots like Olbermann, Maddow, Matthews, Cafferty, Blitzer, O'Reilly, Hannity, Colmes, Martin, Limbaugh, Rhodes and others of their ilk that infest our airwaves should never be allowed to get away with pulling words outa their ass and passing them off as facts. A big bold disclaimer should flash across out screen or be repeated hourly on radio wherever these pundidiots are free to roam. "THIS IS THE UNBRIDLED OPINION OF AN OVERPAID IDIOT." Or is it too mean-spirited? Is my pot meeting my kettle?

Article here

Sorry about the really short, quick, generalized post, but I have to be at work very soon, but read on:

According to the above, the shooter in the Knoxville Unitarian Universalist Church had the following books: "Liberalism is a Mental Health Disorder" by radio talk show host Michael Savage, "Let Freedom Ring" by talk show host Sean Hannity, and "The O'Reilly Factor," by television talk show host Bill O'Reilly."

Now, I'm not about to say that books or any other medium will make someone go out and do something this horrible, but I'm posting this to let people know that Bill O'Reilly is a huge propronent of telling people that playing video games makes kids go kill people; reading books make people act the way the book's written, etc - so I'm wondering when (if ever) this topic will be approached as an issue on his show. I'll kill some brain cells and put on FAUX News after work tonight and talk about it when it's over.

Well, this is about 2weeks late and I'm sorry to those who wanted to read this earlier, but now it's finally here. I will be reflecting on the highlights of my trip to the Gold Coast, if there were anyway at least =/
BEWARE OF PHOTOS!!

A meal at the spectacular Seafood Restaurant, George's Paragon, Sanctuary Cove, overlooking the Wharfs and Jetty. It was wonderful. Stuff meself up with a 'Kanoni' which comprised of Grilled Scnapper, Half a Moreton Bay Bug, a Garlic Prawn and a bunch of vegies. Very nice looking, forgot to take a photo before diggin' in!

A great view!

A Shoe Fettish emerged somehow, something to fill the time in.

Found it odd the wheel was completely upside down =/No I didn't take it upside down.

Oily and greasy fish and chips for lunch. More of these meals went down my throat through the course of the trip. Lucky I didn't get too many pimples as a result of this greasy food.

More shoes!

Found some random mirrors and had to take photos. Here my leg is longer than my body. If only if it was!

The photo of the trip must've been this. You see what you get. A friend taking a photo while my brother is somehow kneeling down to....

Ginger Factory!! Not much to see and do but see the Ginger Bread Mens!!

Standing proud and tall!

First time I've seen a hypnotist shop/clinic

Chicken Parmigiana at Grill Restaurant nearby where we stayed. It was yummy =) Cept the fact it had more chips arghh!

Movieworld. One of the many worlds on the Gold Coast. Could've gone to Dreamworld if I had begged. Could've gone to take photos of the BB auditorium. Never the less Movieworld still filled up a good day's fun for us. Going in knowing that Superman Escape Ride, the Bat Wing and the Police Stunt Show being closed down, we were feeling a bit down. We weren't going to have much fun without the epic thrill rides open.

The parade. Just a showcase of all the Warner Bros. Characters. From Bugs Bunny to Scooby Doo and even Austin Powers as our MC, giving out free icecream. Cat women sexy as ever. Or should I say a bit fat.

Compared to Batman....HOLY FAT!

Daffy Duck. He's wonderful, he played around with my hoody since I had it on, and was sitting on the curb. At first I thought it was a rape. But nah, rape doesn't capture the words the describe the experience of some duck playing around with your clothes.

Inside waiting to get on Scooby Doo. They do quite a lot of landscaping, features and designing for places for you to wait. You see dreamworld, and it's just lines with rope and etc. Obviously setting us in the mood to be scared!

Luckily, the Superman Escape Ride opened up! It was closed down for maintenance for...people to come at night and ride Batwing and Superman. T_T I felt kinda jipped by that. We were leaving Movieworld at around 6ish because we got on the last ride of the day. Luckily!! Then here come lines and lines of teenagers, high schoolers. So you're like...wtf?!? Anyway enough about the stupid people, the ride was just awesome!! Can't really explain it in words. For like first time, I manly screamed when we got rocketed to 100km/h. Then I was just having fun crusing around afterwards. My Brother beside me got into the mood so much, he had to swear a few times when the coaster was CHARGING UP to shoot us out. Pew pew! Good photo yea? Courtesy of dad.

Random, in the carpark of the place we stayed. Barbie Car it reminded me!

Chinglish Menus. Can't miss them can you.

I found it fun trying to capture photos of light.

Shadows are fun to play with.

More shoes..this time on a boardwalk!

Boardwalk, up above the ground 10metres at least.

At O'Reily's we were able to go walk a forest, feed the beautiful birds. Here's one of them perched on my brother's arm

.

Back at George's Paragon, this time in South Port. SP!! At the time I was thinking Ragnarok SP!!

Here's the meal I shared with my sister. The name I don't know how to spell, but this dish was a platter with lots of Greek stuff and yea. Dipping bread in pink sauce. Souvlaki. Calamari.Baby Octopus. Haloumi Cheese(yum) ,Fetta Cheese...few more stuff not worth mentioning.

A friend taught me how to fold the dining clothes, as a crown!!

Cruise Boat we went on. North or South Stradbroke Island. Meh 1hour cruise to the island. It was smooth sailing.

A crab lurking around in the sands.

And me, taking some sand out of my shoe. Shoes should never have sand in them!

This advertisement reminded me of Soul Eater ^^!

I don't know why we were going to eat KFC before going to the airport but on the way to the already closing down food court, many people lining outside Krispy Kremes. FATTIES!

And to sign off. A message in the sand!
