It's interesting to see the two hockey franchises taking different directions this year. 2K9 will present a game that focuses on accessibility and improved presentation, while NHL 09 looks to build on the runaway success of NHL 08 and add some sweet new features, such as Be A Pro and full 5-on-5 online play.

Demos certainly don't tell the whole story, but after spending time with the demos for both games on PSN, I came away excited for NHL 09 and was left wondering whether the final version of NHL 2K9 would bring some excitement. NHL 09 handled just as sweetly as NHL 08 did, plus the visuals were upgraded to a consistent 60 frames per second during gameplay. Meanwhile, for 2K9, I was frustrated by the lack of passing accuracy and was left rather unimpressed by the visuals. 2K9 does seem to improve on its lackluster presentation values from last year's effort, but the demo had no commentary to speak of and some of the sound effects seemed dull. (The soundtrack, however, was pretty good IMO.)

If I had to say which game was going to be the ONE game on ice to get this year, I'd have to say NHL 09 right now; however, I'll be spending time with the retail versions of both games later this week. Stay tuned for detailed impressions soon.

A long while indeed, can EA Freestyle bring a worthy entry into this lacking genre? Let's take a look at FaceBreaker and find out....

I love boxing games, whether it is a simulation game like the Fight night series or a nice light hearted arcade boxer such as the previously mentioned titles, Mike Tysons Punchout or Ready to Rumble boxing.  Some of my fondest memories were playing these games growing up and laying the smack down on a few friends.  So you can imagine my excitement when FaceBreaker was announced. 

There are a variety of fighters, each with their own quirks and styles. These fighters range from Steve the Ninja nerd to Ice Man the cool, calculating, perfect boxer. There is of course Brick, which is the oversized muscleman with no brain and the Socks the crazy man in the straight jacket. There are of course more boxers for you to discover as you progress through the game. Each with their own humorous intro and clip for when they are beaten or beat you in a match. However, while your playing the game it feels that the difference between the fighters ends there.

The graphical presentation is exactly how you expect it to be. Graphics are for the most part crisp and the variety in the scenery of the rings is ample. The damage to your player as he is pummeled adds over time but of course not as real as it is in Fight Night.  The way the faces contort as you land a over the top bone breaker move is pretty cool.

Using the Xbox vision camera or the Playstation Eye, player can create a boxer to look like them in the boxer factory. This works similar to Tiger Woods and is fairly accurate. It does take some time to create one, just the imaging process takes around 20 minutes and there are plenty of options to tweak to your liking.  So it could take your close to 30-35 minutes to create a boxer. Somebody making you angry? or just wanna beat on a celebrity? Well there is the option to use a photo to create a boxer. Hmm... political battle in the ring..could be fun.

With all that being said, the game play can be a bit frustrating at times. You have 2 basic punches and a haymaker button. Not a lot of variety in that respect but you can block, dodge and parry attacks. I actually found if you just held the block down and parried alot you could get through quite a bit of the first fighters. As you progress and fight harder boxers, you start to realize that the CPU has a definite advantage and the game really becomes a button masher. Your finger will start to hurt to be honest.

The music is the game has a decent variety but of course my favorite is the WolfMother Woman remix. Some of the songs do get a bit old or in my case were not to my liking but I'm just a bit picky in that respect.

The game really is its best when you have a live opponent to play against. Online or local, either way it is definately better when you have someone other than the CPU to play against. Especially if you both create your own boxers. It still is a button masher and whoever hits first and keeps going can string together a lot of hits and it can be frustrating still.

While I enjoyed the game for a bit, again I found myself wanted to play Fight Night,Ready to Rumble or even fire up the Wii and play Punchout. The game is priced at $49.00 instead of the usual $59.00 but still I really think that it should be rented or download the demo in order to see if it is something that you will continue to play.

Konami Japan anunció hoy que Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 saldrá a la venta el 15 de octubre en Europa y el 17 en el Reino Unido, mientras que los japoneses deberán esperar hasta noviembre.

Estas fechas aplican a todas las versiones menos la de Wii, que sigue planeada para la primavera del 2009.

Логично.

Спомняш си какъв ужасяващ кошмар бяха останалите портове - кофти управление, хаотична камера, неудобен инвентар и т.н.

Очевидно разработчиците са взели в предвид всичко това, защото снощи публикуваха списък на подобренията в предстоящата PS3 версия на играта:

• Свободно управление на камерата и подобрения в перспективата от първо лице
• Подобрени контроли: движенията на героя в трето лице ще бъдат значително по-бързи и той ще може да реагира своевременно на противниковите атаки
• Инвентарът ще бъде много по-достъпен и комбинирането на различни предмети вече няма да предизвиква такова главоболие
• Адекватен туториъл: ще получаваме значително повече подсказки в процеса на игра, включително за т.нар. "Spectral Vision", чието значение не беше съвсем ясно
• Подобрено управление на превозните средства (Ура!)
• Подобрение на прословутото "59th Street" ниво, което почти всеки пропускаше: добавен е чекпойнт в близост до Columbus Circle, а освен това Сара непрекъснато ще раздава съвети за преодоляването на различните препятствия по пътя

+ бонус изпитание в Епизод 6, което ще го направи по-разнообразен (честно да ти призная по това време отдавна съм запратил играта в някой отдалечен ъгъл на офиса)

И за да няма сърдити, XBOX 360 версията на играта също ще бъде пачната.

За подобрения в PC порта нищо не се споменава.

Naughty Dog's first attempt at a third person shooter is not bad in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. This game reminds me of a mix of Tomb Raider and Indiana Jones. It has great graphics, audio, a nice combat system, and some pretty clever puzzles. The animations for Drake are great and the jungle environments are very realistic. However, some story elements are underdeveloped, it can be a little forgiving at times, and the firefights can often get frustrating. Overall though, I think this is a fun shooter, and if you are looking for a new game, you should try this one out.

Según Jesse Divnich, analista de Electronic Entertainment Design and Research, la PlayStation 3 deberá cuidarse en estas épocas navideñas, luego de la rebaja al precio de la Xbox 360.

“Entre Sony y Nintendo, Sony debería ser las más afectada con la rebaja del precio de Xbox 360”, declaró Divnich a la revista Edge.

”De cara a la campaña navideña, PlayStation 3 no solo tiene el precio más alto sino también un catálogo más pequeño, unas exclusivas más débiles y una red online menos popular”, terminó sentenciando, además de decir que Sony debería considerar bajar el precio a su consola para no verse tan afectada en sus ventas.

Qué creen? Yo creo que en parte Sony ya se está fortaleciendo en los últimos tiempos y no será tan duro el golpe, pero definitivamente la gente (los padres de familia!) preferirán comprarles a sus hijos una "barata" Xbox 360 a sus hijos en lugar de la PlayStation 3 cuando se agoten las Wii (seamos realistas, todos querrán comprar la consola de Nintendo primero).

También los que estaban esperando una rebaja al precio de la consola de Microsoft estarán encantados y finalmente comprarán su Xbox 360 con Gears of War 2 y un par de juegos más.

Algunos optan por las campañas virales, otros (Sony) por los anuncios polémicos, pero lo que hizo Electronic Arts con la publicidad de Spore es verdaderamente genial, sino vean estas fotos.

Se trata de un anuncio 14" por 16" que a simple vista no se ve desde la distancia, por lo que es necesario verlo con un telescopio que se encuentra en la zona, y que los peatones pueden ver, para entonces sí apreciar el anuncio del juego.

La misma gente de EA puso ese telescopio ahí apuntando al anuncio (que pueden ver bien después del salto).

Qué les parece? A mí se me hace de lo más ingenioso últimamente. Lamentablemente este tipo de cosas no llegan a muchos lugares, y en este caso se trata de un anuncio que pusieron en San Francisco.

Al fin se muestra la bateria de Rock Band 2, y esque tal vez muchos se preguntaban cual seria la respuesta de Rock Band 2 al ver la nueva (y mejor que esta) bateria de Guitar Hero World Tur, les adelanto que la bateria es un decepción, pero vean las imagenes para que les quede claro.

I got the demo for Xbox360. That's partly why this is so late. I don't have a gold account and didn't want to get the PS3 version. Sorry guys, I'll do better next time. Anyway, if you were worried about the demo spoiling anything about the game, it doesn't. Because it is such a short demo, it really just comes out being a training level. However, it was enough to give me some important facts.

This game, as implyed by the name, focuses more on using your Force powers. As far as I can tell from the demo, any one wanting sweet lightsaber action should look towards the Wii game coming out later on. The Force Grip power is awesome, but it's hard to aim while under fire. This might just be because I'm just learning and I'll get the hang of it with practice.

The graphics look really nice. From screen shots I have seen doing comparisons, the 360 version has more detail but is some times to dark to see in places while the PS3 version doesn't seem to have the same depth in the art. It's a trade of that will only matter to videophiles. Don't worry about it too much, it's going to be a blast either way.

I won't say more about it because I think you should play it yourself. Just remember that once the demo gets good, it ends. It leaves you wanting more and may make you want to go ahead and pre-order it somewhere. Maybe from me?

Todas las demas canciones que descargaste para el Rockband van ser compatibles con el 2 y no va a ser necesario pagar para poder jugarlas.

La transferencia de canciones va a tener un costo de 400 mp y ya esta disponible!!!

The much anticipated Far Cry 2 just got a little sweeter. The limited edition of Far Cry 2 is unlike any other limited edition you've seen... at least packaging wise. Hit the jump for the contents of the package, and see what makes it unique.

The box that the limited edition will come packaged in is wooden. That's right people, wooden. In my opinion that's pretty kick ass. It will contain the game (surprise!), a t shirt, a map of the area in which Far Cry 2 will take place, an Art of Far Cry 2 book, and the Making-Of DVD.

As long as it ships on the same day as the standard edition, which it most likely will, it will release on October 21. I'll be picking it up without a doubt.

Вкратце - скандинаво-мексикански миш-маш, който за пореден път ще те отведе до почти всички екзотични точки на планетата.

Нещо характерно за поредицата Tomb Raider, впрочем.

По-всичко личи, че Underworld ще съчетае най-доброто от предните две части, което на практика е най-доброто решение за играта.

Все още имам опасения за престрелките, които винаги са представлявали препъни-камък за поредицата. В това отношение нито един от досега представените трейлъри не успя да ме впечатли.

Изключая ръкопашната схватка с тигрите, която безспорно беше много яка.
