This is my first flash animation, featuring a somersaulting stickfigure. Enjoy!

In the end I only kept fifty one shots.  A good number were repetitive.  And while my camera is a mighty fine one for sticking in your pocket - and has an excellent battery life, good stabilization when I'm not using a tripod, and great low-light and macro capabilities - the optical zoom is only like 3x.  And the digital zoom just doesn't give professional looking results.  Which isn't so bad in good circumstances, but I was trying to set up out of the way, so I was a bit of a distance off.  Hence a number of shots were also just too fuzzy for my taste.

But anyway, it was a fun experience.  It made me long for a real tripod (my cheap one broke aftewards when trying to re-compact it into portable size) and a real SLR 10+ megapixel digital camera.  For a presentation that wasn't pandering to any cameras, I think I got some great shots for what I had to work with.

It kind of makes me wish I could do that kind of stuff professionally.  I think I have a good eye.  But I'm too engrossed into the computer programming career to just jump ship.  Besides, if I did jump into a new career, it'd probably be something more like running a pagan / new age shop.  That or a crossdresser, clubwear, and sex toy store.

Yeah, I know, I'm crazy.

And then I've always wanted to be a writer...

No words can describe the beauty of The Fountain's soundtrack well enough. And that's exactly the beauty of it.

It's music got me into tears, meditation, fear, anguish.. and more.. more than words that were invented for expression. And it's fucking good! And that's the fucking beauty of it!!!

really, what has the physical really provided us with? Air, Love, Music, Emotions, Thoughts, Telepathy, Connection. What really matters needs no physical existence.

I believe in another existence. Where the non physical survive. Spirit of a chair, Appreciation, Memories. Another world. Another universe. Another                                      ....

This soundtrack extists in that parrallel axis. It's music brings so much more. but really more of what I don't know. But it just puts me into a prayer or a session or a meditation. A sub consicous that moves me deeply.

I don't think during the creation of this soundtrack, had the creators expect to kill people with such intense music. And that's how art's made.

Art is accidental. And that's it's beauty. A non physical that moulds its shape.

We all know the old adage "Curiosity killed the cat."

Well, after yesterday's post, I had a nagging thought that I just couldn't get out of my mind. 

What exactly did Sarge do when he needed to use the restroom while he was doing surveillance/on a stake-out?

I know I wrote that I thought this question/answer fell into the category of "too much information."

And yes, it actually still does.

But I couldn't help it, I just had to know. I just had to ask.

So this morning, before going to work, I asked Sarge about it. 

His first answer was quite a relief. He just said that he usually took care of business in the bushes somewhere near where his car was parked. 

This didn't bother me at all because as a very wise fellow soccer mom told me while I was potty training my son, the whole world can be a restroom for a boy.

Not so much for the girls and women in this world.

Just one of many differences between the sexes. But I digress as that could be a topic for a dissertation. 

Sarge's second answer really threw me for a loop. Sarge would also probably die if he knew I was even putting this out there. All I'm going to say is his response involved a coke bottle. 

And the really, really, really bad thing is that I still had more questions. But because I want people to come back here, I won't go there. Seriously, I'm done with this topic. 

Needless to say, the whole thing haunted me all day today.

This truly was a case of my own curiosity coming back to bite me in the bottom.

The new threat comes in form of flying dolphins that likes to attack people out in their boats. They especially like to slap anyone they can, and then flee. Their 'great plan' does have one flaw tough, which is that they require humans to push them back into the water afterwards.
I can only hope that the persons they attack aren't a big fan of sushi, for in that case they may be in serious trouble if they didn't bring food with them in the boat!

When a few persons were out in a boat they saw a dolphin jumping out if the water straight ahead of them, and landing in their boat. The dolphin panicked and slapped around in the boat, knocking them all to the floor and slapping them with its tail over and over again until they managed to shove it overboard and back into the water.

The elder man afterwards said,

"That thing had a good punch, Mike Tyson does not hit that hard."

See, we should run for cover straight away until the dolphins have calmed down a bit!

Have you ever wondered what happens with the things that you recycle? Plastic bags, newspapers etc. I suppose many people have. But have you eve been thinking if you should recycle it or not?
Like, a condom. Or two. Or a lot of them.
In china, they apparently recycle used condoms and make hair bands and rubber bands out of them.

So, what are the plus sides of this recycling?
+ They are really cheap
+ They are colorful

And now for the more serious minus side:
- If you put them in your mouth while doing your hair you could get AIDS or any other disease
- They are sold to grown ups as well as children.
- The sellers refuse to say if they are recycled condoms or not, and where they got their hairbands from claiming it to be a commercial secret.

A dermatologist in a Hospital, called Dong, said the following:

"There are a lot of bacteria and viruses on the rubber bands and hair ties made from used condoms. People could be infected with AIDS, warts or other diseases if they hold the rubber bands or strings in their mouths while weaving their hair into plaits or buns,"

An official from the Guangzhou administration of industry and commerce said it was against the law to make or sell goods made from used condoms.

Who the hell came up with the idea of making hair bands out of used condoms just to save money, and then sell them to shops and hair saloons? I mean, they should have knows that sexually transmitted diseases could be transmitted through these hairbands. Unbelievable what some people do for money. I'd rather go without that money than risk other peoples health!

It wasn't. It was my post about Natalie, but he did make me think. I feel nervous, sad and angry a lot of the time these days. I am not naturally pessimistic. In fact, I would say I have a tendency toward happiness and irrational hope. Or at least I used to. Lately, it's been hard not to get discouraged. I start out each morning with an urge to stay informed and involved. Today, I think, heroically, might be the day I make a difference. But by noon, I'm turning off NPR because I don't think I can stand to hear another scary story.

Then yesterday, they aired a story about the Barefoot College in India. Founded by Sanjit Bunker Roy in 1972, the college trains unemployed rural youth and women as solar engineers. There are no prerequisites for attendance. Barefoot College students do not earn degrees or certificates, but they do learn valuable skills which they bring back to their villages, increasing technical and financial self-reliance for themselves and their communities.

On a day when I'd been pummeled by stories of negative campaigning, plunging stock markets and rising unemployment rates, the Barefoot College story felt like a sort of mental oasis. A chance to remember that greed and narrow mindedness have not yet replaced all that is good in the world. Tom Brokaw did a tremendous job moderating the debate. At one point, Tom tells Obama and McCain that they’re going to answer questions that came in over the Internet. And McCain said, “Tom . . . is that the same as the telegraph?”

I think McCain isn’t that great a debater. At one point, he said to Obama, “Hey — if you’re so smart, how come you’re not farther ahead in the polls?”

But McCain did say that two years ago he warned everyone about “Beverly Hills Chihuahua.”

They had the town-hall format. That means the candidates could move around on the stage. McCain looked like a retiree who couldn’t find his Buick.

Last night’s presidential debate between Barack Obama and John McCain is being called flat, boring, and uninteresting. As a result, it’s been picked up as a fall series by NBC.

During the debate, John McCain sparked a controversy when he referred to Barack Obama as "that one." Afterwards, McCain said, "What — like I’m supposed to remember everyone's name now?”

Because of all the international focus on the election, the debate was broadcast in foreign countries all across Europe, Asia, and South America. Or as Sarah Palin calls them — "Russia.”
