Once Upon a Time at the Vicious Mall - I sent out a group IM for models. I said that the first 10 girls to respond would get to be models and of course keep the clothes. Alice07 Barzane responded, and despite her little English and my zero Japanese, we had a splendid afternoon taking pictures of clothes that would be for sale at Vicious Fairy.

Alice started coming to our events, and shortly after told us she was opening a bar. The Vicious Crew picked up and pulled our groups over to the Grand Opening of Peppermint Blue. We had one hell of a party.

And a friendship was born.

I consider Alice07 Barzane to be one of my true, real friends in SL. I simply adore her and the kindness with which she distributes her assistance packs. Her heart is huge, she pays tons out in camping to allow people to have a more enjoyable experience on the grid. We muddle through still, between her English and my zero Japanese (remarkably - her English is really getting good, my Japanese is still nonexistent).

But I look forward to each and every visit with Alice, and the emails we exchange in friendship.

Historia

Assim como no início da fase “Força do tempo”, “Power Rangers SPD” se passa em um futuro remoto, onde humanos e extraterrestes convivem pacificamente. Mas, como nem tudo são rosas, a harmonia dos mundos é ameaçada por um poderoso Império que deseja conquistar terrenos em todos os planetas do espaço.

Felizmente, a Terra estava preparada para receber as ameaças e uma equipe de novos rangers já estava sendo treinada se caso isso acontecesse. Formando uma verdadeira equipe militar, os heróis da Patrulha Delta recebem ordens do comandante Kruger, que por sua vez utiliza técnicas milenares já utilizadas em outra geração de rangers do bem para ensinar os escolhidos.

O time é composto por alienígenas e humanos, que unem seus poderes para enfrentar os vilões da trama. Jack Landors é o líder da equipe e sempre fez parte de um rebelde grupo de garotos que cresceram nas ruas. Ele se torna ranger quando é preso pela força S.P.D. e recebe a chance de se tornar uma pessoa melhor.

Apesar dos problemas com a polícia, Jack é uma boa pessoa e sempre roubou dos ricos, para dar aos pobres. Suas atitudes de liderança fazem com que ele ganhe os poderes do ranger vermelho e fique por conta de toda a responsabilidade.

No início, Jack tem alguns problemas para lidar com os companheiros. Eles não aceitam sua autoridade e nem suas decisões corajosas, coisa que Sky, o ranger azul, questiona muito. O garoto tem o sonho de se tornar o líder da patrulha, mas seu orgulho fez com que ele ganhasse os poderes mais fracos. Apesar de tudo, ele tem bastante habilidade em manejar armas de fogo e é a grande tática da equipe S.P.D.

Também compõem a patrulha os heróis Bridge (Ranger Verde), que é um gênio da computação e domina todos os “macetes” que os veículos de batalha dos rangers precisam. Elizabeth (Ranger Amarela), que também cresceu como Jack(Embora ela tivesse condições de vida melhores, ela se tornou como Jack por sentir rejeitada). Sydney, cantora e modelo que veio de uma nobre família americana e Cruger, o grande comandante, que mais tarde se torna o Ranger das Sombras.

Como auxílio em suas missões, os heróis também contam com seus veículos e zords, além de um aparato tecnológico de última geração. Cada ranger tem uma arma e um robô diferente, que se torna muito útil durante as batalhas.

O mais interessante de “Power Rangers S.P.D.” é a alta capacidade dos roteiros. Dificilmente as histórias caem nas mesmices e os personagens tem uma verdadeira trajetória dentro da série. Grande parte dos capítulos se preocupa em mostrar a relação dos amigos e seus dramas diante da patrulha Delta. Para quem queria uma dose diferente dos clássicos heróis coloridos, esta é a chance.

• Imperador Gruumm

O Imperador Gruumm é o líder dos Troobianos, uma força militar alienígena da galáxia. São maus, e destroem tudo em seu caminho. Gruumm com seu exército, destruiu Sirius, o planeta natal de Kruger, e muitos outros planetas mais desta vez, seu alvo é a Terra. Gruumm procura se vingar de Kruger porque ele arrancou um pedaço do seu Chifre. Entretanto, ele precisa consultar frequentemente um poder maior, Omni. Mas foi detido por Kruger, após Omni ser destruído.Kruger arrancou outro pedaço de seu Chifre.

• Mora\Morgana

Não deixe este tolo e inocente olhar de dez anos amolecer seu coração. Mora é Mal puro e pode criar monstros reais com apenas sua imaginação. Mora é transformada em Morgana quando Valcon falha. Ela só volta a ser a Mora quando rouba o plasma sintético Emotech para Gruumm. Depois que Kruger escapou de sua prisão, prendeu Mora.Morgana é a forma adulta de Mora. Gruumm encontrou Morgana e a transformou em Mora até que continuou a falhar. Ela era conhecida como Morgana, mais por alguma razão deseja ainda queria retornar a ser Mora para recapturar sua infância.

• Broodwing

Broodwing é um ser malígno que vende armas, soldados robóticos e robôs gigantes a qualquer um que pague. Ele só liga pro dinheiro, não liga se algo vai ser beneficiado ou se vai ser destruído. Broodwing tem orgulho de suas habilidades marcantes. Broodwing vira inimigo do Gruumm, porque Gruumm compra coisas do Broodwing mas as mercadorias compradas não podem derrotar os Rangers então ele se recusa a pagar. No penúltimo episódio, ele reúne todos os seus soldados e ataca a S.P.D., mas é detido pelos Rangers.

• Krybots

Krybots são soldados robóticos que servem como força ao exercito Troobiano. São os soldados mais fracos do exército troobiano, eles servem mais para distrair os Rangers por alguns minutos, mas são os soldados que estão em maior número. Os krybots normais são os únicos soldados do exército troobiano que não sabem falar. O primeiro krybot apareceu em Beginings parte 1.

• Robô Cabeça Azul

Os Cabeças Azuis são mais importantes que os Krybots, são mais espertos e mais poderosos. Cabeças azuis podem ser os soldados mais poderosos, mas sempre estão em menor número que os Krybots normais. Quando o exército de Krybots normais é pequeno, geralmente só tem um cabeça azul. O cabeça azul pode pilotar robôs gigantes, pode aparecer com dois tipos de armas: canhão e espada. O primeiro cabeça azul apareceu em Beginings parte 1.

• Krybot Cabeça Laranja

Os Cabeças Laranjas são os Krybots mais raros. Fazem tudo o que os outros Krybots podem fazer mas são em menor número, e seus ataques são Shockwave e Triforce. Os krybots laranjas são extremamaente poderosos. O primeiro cabeça laranja apareceu em Sam Parte 1.

• Omni

Consultado frequentemente como Magnificência, Omni é o ser com que Gruumm tanto fala. Gruumm procura por uma maneira de trazer o Omni à terra. Atualmente reside em uma câmara na nave espacial do Terror e tem a habilidade de controlar qualquer mente. Gruumm usou todos os recursos da terra para preparar a chegada de Omni na terra, seu corpo é criado por recursos roubados. Com este poder, Omni é atento em governar a Galáxia. I know songs from Hair!

That particular one, was a favorite in High School - as we were laquering our hair with more layers of Aquanet and teasing it this way and that, yet dropping those bangs down strategically to look disheveled.

I recently told Cajsa that I think my love affair with Aleri Darkes hair stems from my love of her bangs in the face styles.

I gotta have bangs. And Aleri isn't shy about shagging up a 'do with some killer bangs, I tell you that.

Heading into the holiday weekend, I chose a casual Friday look from Kunglers, their recently released Emilie, which includes the retro print top, jeans and the nails! (Kunglers is great about including an accesory or nails with their outfits, it's a nice touch I think).

Something Lady-Like - Of course.

I start every log in the same way, I stroll up to the third floor of my house, hop on my dressing stand and get nekkid. It is only then that I start to drop onto my floor, like a complacent teenager, anything that has been dropped into my inventory since my last log in, review items, group gifts, invitations, catalogs, presents, things I bought from Onrez or SLX etc etc etc. I throw them around the room opening them haphazardly and whoa be to me when the stuff isn't boxed. But that's another story.

Sometimes I put the things on, sometimes (if they are review items) I put them on to check them out and then make a note of them for another time, and then sometimes they just sit on the floor for a a while. But this pink flurry of lady-like girlyness was too good to pass up, especially since it included gloves and a little purse. It was a gift from CLIO via the Ewing Fashion Agency and I've got to check out the store now, because this is a lovely little ensemble.

I had been stalking a new bed for weeks and weeks. So I crammed my lindens into this lovely little bag and went strolling through Henmations for my final pass before making my purchase.

It felt a little surreal, to be strolling through the shop with my gloves and sweet little dress, and checking out the options and poses ONE LAST TIME. A sure fire way to know that I don't have my sound on very often was that I wasn't aware these things come with SOUND.......OMG I thought the devil was descending on me!  (Actually A DEVIL was there but he paid me no interest, he and his girlfriend who was some sort of fairy were also trying out beds). 

My purchase safely tucked into my inventory I strolled home to check it out, more privately, as it were. :)

Just a quick aside. I won this skin at the Layniewear/SYD Main Store in the lucky chair.

I am absolutely in love with this and am planning to pick up most of the makeup variations just because I adore the colors and clean lines. This is SYD's Rosepetal Skin in Fresh Spring Makeup. I truly adore it. The lip color is rich with a little glossy highlight - just enough though, it really is more of a matte finish, and the eyecolor really pops! This would actually be excellent with some fall browns (expect to see it girls!)

I had to add my new hair from Diversity (shakes fist at Aleri Darkes - I'd have had my new bed MUCH SOONER had it not been for all your damned new hair!!!  :)  ) and some very pretty, feminine earrings from Petal Meg.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to check out my new bed.........

It seems the quote of August 2008 is "I am tired", and perhaps more recently "my head hurts". The long soggy nights are taking their toll, and a full day alone on the dodgems sent me into migraine central, which even the beloved Gin, Whiskey, Nurofen could not fix. Today I am supposedly resting ... although resting in this context translates to deciding what to take across the Atlantic, and more importantly, which handbag. Sigh. I awoke to a long hot bath and radio 4, in an attempt to stop my head from throbbing ... ku-chung-ku-chung-ku-chung ... etc. Reminded me of a similarly prolongued headache in Kolkata, when I opened my eyes to find Leena, Sr Andrea and my landlady standing over the bed with cold flannels, telling me I didn't have malaria.

Physical and mental fatigue is a seemingly deadly combination.

On Thursday Arthur and I enjoyed a trip to Stratford, in honour of his birthday ... to see The Merchant of Venice. It was a thoroughly good production, and one we both enjoyed. [All that glistens is indeed not gold, and pounds of flesh can be carved in many ways, without a drop of blood.]

My mind has been drifting across the Atlantic recently ... perhaps it's the long cold hours at work, or the imminent trip to Canadian pastures. Maybe it's the foggy tiredness ... but I began to realise that I couldn't fly across the pond and not make a trip to New York ... 4months on. When I flew out of JFK in May, I was pink-haired, freshly tattooed, and rather bemused following my handcuff experience with the NYPD. I didn't know what I was going home to ... I was leaving behind a lifestyle, a "circle" of people who had, in many different ways, contributed to an envigorating, fantastic 3months in an amazing city. Of course, much has happened in the 4months between then and now. Not only have I met Arthur, but I've got my place on the MA, and amongst other things, the hair is no longer pink. I would like to say I have regained some "stability", if that is a desired/possible pursuit. Yet I long to sit on "my" bench in Central Park, to sing karaoke at Iggy's on 2nd Avenue ... to sit in my old haunts, and yes ... to meet up with the esteemed professor of cardiology at NYU. I want Arthur to meet him, and others ... and I need to know how it seems. I also, unashamedly, love Manhattan, the atmosphere and enormity of such an insomniac city. I want to take Arthur to Strawberry Fields, to the Bronx to chop vegetables with nuns ... to Bergdorf Goodmans, to the East Village, and to Brooklyn Bridge at dawn. No one forgets their first time in New York .. and I'd like to make his special. I remember being very small, tottering down Madison Avenue looking up with awe at the skyscrapers ... never thinking at 26 I would spend three magical months there.

It is perhaps a tentative subject; writing about one's "ex" when one knows one's "present" is reading. However, Syd, and the infamous tattoo have been discussed recently ... and we remain very good friends. We always said we were soulmates, and any future significants would have to accept the fact. Arthur quoted me a song the other day, the lyrics of which I am pasting below:

I had originally picked out this ensemble for my house party last week, before Alice came along with her mahvelous Peppermint Blue items. So I thought it would be fitting for some time at the lake, since I was in the land of 10,000 lakes. I only saw like 3 lakes, so I'm not sure where they hide the rest of them BUT this peachy fun bikini definitely lends a white sand beach attitude to the mucky lake water.

And now if you'd like to kill me, I'll confess that this was a freebie - and BEAUTIFUL freebie bikini at that. And I know it's by SYD but I do NOT know where/when I got it. Try not to hate me forever. :( Anyoneknow if this is still available? It's prettier than some bikinis I've paid good linden for and looks great with my fair skin. I always have trouble with things like bikinis because I wear such fair skin - no tan skin for me. Pasty white girl in both lives. :) It's also a great compliment to my Reyna 2 hair from Sinsation, which I don't wear much but is a fun 'do.

I love how flattering the texture is and what a feminine print it has. I also like that it's ladylike and all my bits aren't hanging out. Don't want to end up on SLFP just because you decided to hit the beach, now do ya?

Just got reminded of the good old days with SYD. I remember spending over an hour on the beaches gazing at stars and posing for this photograph. It took them almost an hour to get it right, but the effort paid off...

SYD Designer Teagan saw my Patriotica series and hit me with her Vampire Skin - with Patriotic makeup. While I was waiting for Cajsa to be ready to shoot, while I was ambling around the grid shopping and meandering I decided to to juxtapose the goth-vampire look with a very girly BRIGHT dress from <3 Cupcakes and some uber high-fashion shades I just picked up at Tesla.

Standing on Juicy poses this ended up being a really slick high fashion look. I picked up this hair at Diversity Hair - Aleri has released some more of her classic styles retextured and I got this and another on sale.

Another designer that is generous with the freebies especially around the holidays is SYD - Style Your Destiny. For just a linden you can pick up this sweet little July 4 dress in their store in world or on ONREZ. I couldn't resist the opportunity to break out my color change bracelets from Fresh Baked Goods. I love these - any bracelet that I can make work with any outfit is definitely a best buy.

The dress fabric is in lovely muted tones that reminds of the SPIRIT OF '76 so much it hurts. What a fun little dress - I'm so delighted I found it, even if I only DO break it out once a year.

Får man hoppas när man kommer ihåg uttrycket; södergök är dödergök, västergök är bästergök, östergök är tröstergök och norrgök är sorggök.

Det beror på hur vi tolkar det gamla talesättet, när man trodde att göken kunde sia om framtiden. Jag bor i norr men göken gol i väster från tidig gryning och flera timmar framåt på förmiddagen har vi hört den kokoa sitt lockläte. Jag hörde eller läste någonstans att det är från det rum man vistas i första gången man hör göken, som man ska lyssna varifrån ljudet kommer från.  

I alla fall har jag hört göken gala i två dagar här i Forsnäs, från väster så då skulle det betyda stor lycka under året. Jag började fundera på grammatiken i ordet, jag vill skriva göken har galt i väster, men det låter inte heller riktigt rätt.  Vissa ord är svåra att hitta rätt, de låter tokigt än vad man säger eller skriver.

Åska är härligt på håll, och åskat har det gjort i går, riktigt ordentligt och i flera intervaller och timmar. I dag har regnet bara öst ner ett tag men nu klarnar det upp och är så vackert och friskt grönt överallt. När jag får sitta så här i stugan och titta ut över älven tycker jag att det är mysigt och rofyllt med både åska och regn, hemma är det inte samma känslor, inte riktigt samma utsikt och miljö.

Jag önskar verkligen att det var ljud och direktöverförande stämningsdator jag har, men nu är inte läget sådant och att sitta här och skriva är helt fantastiskt. Jag förstår alla författare och övriga skribenter som får skrivlust och att kreativiteten flödar när de sitter vid sin lilla stuga någonstans bortom allt storstadsvimmel.  

Här skulle jag gärna sitta ensam några dagar och bara njuta, skriva och vila, får se om tillfälle ges den här sommaren. Att få drömma sig bort ett tag och bara vara i lugnet, det är livskvalité som jag uppskattar. Jag, göken, svanarna och alla andra skönsjungande fåglar, svanens sång är inte speciellt vacker men den har ju andra fördelar.

Stardust Memories…

Oh, that Hoagie Carmichael sure could write a great song, a timeless classic that will still be sung if and when we ever travel to the stars. This dress, Daphne Diamond, from Casa del Shai, has that same sort of classic timelessness. I can picture Greta Garbo sparkling in this, but I can also close my eyes and see Deanna Troi waltzing in it at some intergalactic ballroom. 

What makes it a classic? The elegant simplicity of its lines, the subtle soft sensuous fabric, the always chic silvery gray color, and the way it clings and sways to the body. Then there is the simple and restrained embellishment of stardust on the skirt. It is a dress that could last forever. And oh….is it ever sexy
