Why is it then that so many 'good Christan people' believe they have the God-given right to pass judgment on others? Think twice before freely offering up your own prejudices and personal preferences as  'God's view' on everything from the clothes people wear, to the education and health choices of others and social and foreign policy of governments. Keep your sermons and empty rhetoric to yourself. Judge not lest ye be judged.

Old School. (2003)

I remember seeing this movie in a theater that had about 6 people in it with Justin Dubose. Oh how we laughed and laughed. The movie cut off half-way through because of an ice storm. After some instant panic, a bit of flirting with 2 girls from Pflugerville, and a trip back to the concession stand, the hilarity was back on. Seriously, Vince Vaughn, Will Farrell, Luke Wilson, that old guy that played Blue, Snoop Dogg, late night streaking through the quad and into the gymnasium, KY wrestling. What more could you ask for? This DVD will probably be in my player for the next week and a half.

It's more along the lines of the 'different wells, same well-spring' approach. Comfortable in their own broad theology, the true believer (apologies to any political conservatives in the readership! *winks*) is not bound by a prescribed set of specific doctrine, dogma or prejudices. Narrow definitions exclude others, which is directly contrary to the teachings of ALL major religions.

3. You act from a place of compassion
True spirituality leads to self-awareness. Thus, able to recognise (and hopefully put aside) your selfish responses based on your own life-time of insecurities, hurts and fears, you become free to see through the motivations of others and better understand their motivations and needs. When we come from a genuine place of compassion, we seek to understand and to help others free themselves from their suffering. (This does NOT mean pointing out the short-comings of others while reveling in our own enlightenment!)

4. You experience life differently
While it initially sounds like kookoo mystic chatter, when you look a little deeper - it makes sense... A person of faith looks at things from a different perspective and approaches things differently, so it follows that you'll experience life differently too. There's a quiet calm and an unmistakable groundedness to be found in faith. You start to experience life on a deeper plane, and see through the charade of impermanence of some of the crazy stuff that neurotic secular society implores us to crave, and the reckless, selfish behaviour that is lauded in by vapid commercial entities leaves us empty and hungry for something more... 

5. You have a sense of longing
You don't have to be K.D. Lang to suffer from 'constant craving'. Whether it's a yearning for God, or a general sense of restlessness at having missed the point on something much bigger than yourself, a person of genuine faith knows that the short-lived gratification won't make you feel any better about yourself. Expecting another person to complete you is foolish, and no amount of [insert vice of choice here] is going to keep the longing, and self-loathing, at bay. Hiding behind a busy schedule at work or play (defining yourself by your hobbies),ultimately won't help either. At some point - you have to stop running, and learn to be comfortable with the silences. Be still and know that I am God.

LaPorta has an easy loft to his swing and a strong, powerful frame which still has room to add some muscle. He has fantastic plate discipline and can flat out hit for power to all fields in any stadium. LaPorta doesn’t have much speed and many (including myself) expected him to struggle adjusting with his move to the outfield. He is a better fit at first base (thanks to good hands and solid instincts) and has been seeing a lot of time in that spot which is currently a hole in the Indians organization. The fact that he's such a hard worker has helped a lot in his transition to new positions.

2.) Adam Miller, RHP: Despite having to battle back from a couple of different injuries, Adam Miller continues to be the Indians top prospect. Miller's arsenal includes a mid to upper-90's four-seam fastball, a two-seam fastball, change-up, and a great power slider with late break on it. He also has a great make-up and good command of his pitches. As of now he is projected as being a front line starter but that could change depending on how he returns from his injuries. If he doesn't bounce back he could slip down to be a middle or back of the rotation guy or even to the bullpen.

3.) Beau Mills, 3B: Mills is a big, left-handed hitting third base prospect with a ton of upside. He has excellent hitting skills and has a chance to be a very good hitter as a professional. He does a great job adjusting to pitches and really makes pitchers pay when they make a mistake. Mills also has plus power with a solid line drive swing. He has some loft to his swing and will hit a lot of doubles and homers as a pro. Currently he's a third baseman with average skills (range, arm, etc) and has many people saying he may end up at first base which I feel would be best for him.

4.) Chuck Lofgren, LHP: Lofgren is a polished lefty who has continued to improve his abilities on the mound. He has a low-90's fastball and a fantastic change-up that many feel is one of the best in the Minors. Lofgren's ability to get into the Indians' starting rotation may run into a snag with how many players on currently on the list. He may find a spot in the bullpen in the meantime until someone falls off or gets injured.

5.) Wes Hodges, 3B: Hodges is a good overall athlete with a solid bat. His bat has great potential to hit for average as he makes good contact, has strong hands, has great bat speed, and a consistent eye at the plate. Hodges has improved his ability to drive the ball which as he does this more will continue to improve his power numbers. With Beau Mills most likely moving to first, Hodges has a shot to be Cleveland's future third baseman.

3. GET OUT THERE: Get your blog into the world.  90% of the blogs I would think are unknown to most people.  Go to your forums or other places and tell people about your blog. Ask them (DON'T TELL) them to visit your blog and ASK them to tell you what they think.  If they like it, it will be passed on and the chain begins.  Maybe you can be the next Chris Pirillo ;)

4. DESCRIPTIVE: Be descriptive and don't to wordy in your body or your title.  Most people, like me, don't want to sit there and read a book online.  Keep it short but don't leave out the details!

5: FOCUS: Don't get off topic and start talking about a new gadget you got and then end up talking about your hair cut... Not a good thing. Pick a topic and stick with it.  Maybe keep your overall blog about a subject like Tech Help, or product Reviews.

Bom, vamos ao Top 5 de hoje. Na lista da semana passada estavam As Melhores Músicas "Regravadas". Mas a vida não é uma mar de rosas (rs). Por isso, esta semana, irei listar As Piores Músicas "Regravadas". Além do mais, nem sempre é possível agradar a gregos e troianos, não é mesmo?

   Música: You Shook Me All Night Long
   Artista (original): AC-DC
   Opinião(ões): Prefiro evitar qualquer tipo de comentário sobre esta versão (rs).
2. Artista: Danni Carlos
   Música: Stayin' Alive
   Artista (original): Bee Gees
   Opinião(ões): Tem que ter muito peito para regravar esta música. Tudo bem, eu gosto da Danni Carlos. As músicas dela são legais e há versões que ficaram boas. Mas Stayin' Alive não rolou.
3. Artista: Will Young
   Música: Light My Fire
   Artista (original): Doors, The
   Opinião(ões): Sei que vou ser apedrejado por isso, mas: "Nunca gostei do The Doors." (rs). Gosto é gosto, né! Mas, mesmo assim, (na minha opinião) foi um erro cantar esse clássico (do Rock n' Roll) com essa voz esganiçada (e essa melodia de música de motel).

   Música: More Than Words
   Artista (original): Extreme
   Opinião(ões): Outra música que precisa ter muito peito para regravar. Ainda mais uma Boy Band (rs).
5. Artista: Sex Pistols
   Música: My Way

   Opinião(ões): Eu sei que o Sex Pistols revolucionou o Rock n' Roll, eu sei que esta música foi hino do movimento Punk. Mas, mesmo assim, não consigo gostar desta versão. O quê que eu posso fazer?

4. What Lies Beneath

This movie always scares the shit out of me. What is it about ghost movies and bathtubs that are just so fricken scary?

3. The Eye

Warning, if you are afraid of ghosts do not watch this movie alone at night. Truly horrifying. I have yet to see the remake

2. The Others

If you want to get academic, this film is filled with feminist critique, very Yellow Wallpaper-esque. But this film is also great if you're looking for brilliant filmmaking and a good scare.
